If you are going to plant Tomatoes, bury a banana under the roots - - makes the tomato strong and produce more tomatoes. Watching Nori makes me sad because my first dog looked just like him and he was my constant companion - - I rescued him when I was four years old - he lived 13 years. I am now 79 years old and still tear up when I think of him.

Ignore the detractors. We were told we were wrong for planting our onion sets out in October, "they will never grow" we were told. Guess what, we have loads of onions each year (and Garlic). Half of the fun of growing your own is learning what works and what doesn't.

Listening to the thunderstorms was so relaxing. Nori is so naughty trying to eat the netting etc etc. It is all a learning curve growing veg and flowers. My thoughts on the matter is there is no right or wrong, there is learning and experimenting and trying by trial and error. Enjoy your adventure in gardening. That was very gentlemanly of you to let those other fisherman fish for their goods and you going to a different location. The crab and lobster dishes looked delicious and I enjoy your videos very much.

I don't know if it works on Springers, but the best "do NOT chew on THAT!" product I ever found was cherry flavored chapstick, or any cherry flavored lip balm that is made mostly of wax. Rub it on the surface of whatever and the first time they taste it, most dogs run away.

if you want a fun diy project with carrot seeds, you can make your own seed tape using a bit of loo roll and some flour and water for glue. Helps with the spacing. I did it for a wee test a few years back and i couldn't believe how well it worked. Saves having to thin out any seedlings which can attract the flies.

My mouth started watering looking at the cooked crab and lobster. It’s lobster season on the East coast of Canada now. You deserve it after all your work. It’s great finding so many usable things on the shore. I felt great empathy for Jack Spaniels being the good boy he is. He deserves a good stick. The garden is fantastic. Spring peas are so tempting I think tasting a few will encourage more growth. Just a thought…. What a week on the Isle of Skye.

How does all that netting, the plastic fish boxes and other detritus wash up everywhere? Do people just toss unwanted garbage overboard, or is there another reason-like storms which blow stuff into the sea from decks and jetties? How sad to see it all lying or drifting about and potentially harming the sea life. Great video. Nori and Jack are so funny… as enjoyable as cream cakes, ‘naughty but nice’ XXX

I recently watched a few videos on here about plastic welding. If you get an old soldering gun you can quite solidly repair plastic items. I got into it for repairing kayaks. And Willie can still use zip ties, just as welding rods. Thanks for the beach cleanup. Read articles years ago about how plastics from here in Nova Scotia ride the currents and end up over there in the UK. Actually Scotland iirc. All the best!

If you get a piece of chicken wire(small spaces) to put in the planters up around the edges, it'll keep out the dogs, varmints, and some of the larger birds. If you buy a piece of tulle to cover the plants inside the chicken wire, it'll keep out bugs (slugs) that eat plants, small birds, mice etc. So Sarah, since Willie is the Captain, are you going to be First Mate (or ONLY mate) lol. Can you believe that there was a time they fed prisoners on lobsters? Heck, it would almost be worth it if they'd provide melted butter too. See you next week! Blessed Be!

I chop up banana skins, tea bags and ground eggshells, put it all in a container and fill it up with water, leave it for a few weeks and you have a natural liquid fertiliser. The best for your tomatoes is to chop up the leaves of the comfrey plant and do the same, after a few weeks it smells like sewage but you get beautiful sweet tomatoes. It's great to watch you back in my home country, I'm living in Spain (wife's choice) growing grapes, lemons, figs, herbs, garlic and cauliflower. Hard to keep the feral cats off of it though. Great video, always looking forward to your next adventure.

Hi both. We both love your videos, and the lifestyle that you lead. Doing renovations ourselves, I just wanted to let you know of something I have literally finished today. I have painted our dated looking mahogany upvc windows to black. They look amazing now, and the paint was only £25. Ours took 2 coats and really has transformed the look of the house. As many people are not a fan of the upvc look, ours now look like painted wood and your windows (I hope you don't mind me saying) don't do your beautiful home any favours. Anyway the stuff I used was called Zinsser AllCoat Exterior Satin (well reviewed for upvc, and loads of colours). Not a normal comment (sorry) but as I saw your windows in todays vlog and I just finished ours, I thought I'd pass on the knowledge.
