Got my blood flowing fast! Been 5 years since I went to my honey hole! I have way over 10,000 in my collection, but I always get amped up seeing people find them!

Hi fossilguy! Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the recovery videos - it truly is about the thrill of the hunt!

When I get my back worked on and recover, would love to collect with you! Either your place or here in Central Mississippi in the Byram formation. It is so confined, you can cut chunks out and wash and find thousands in 1 day.

That would be wonderful! It would be nice to collect some MS Oligocene material.

Enjoyed the vid. You have a good eye. Great weather. Today looks like a great day for hunting also. Warm temp. No rain. Low tide around 3pm

Thanks, Lee! So many people are focused on finding big teeth, they walk right over the more significant finds. (My next video highlights a dolphin periotic that 99% of collectors would have stepped right over!)

@@CharlestonFossilAdventures Yes that is so correct. The way I look at it is: If you can find the small ones then the large ones are easy to find. When I visited La Brea Tar Pits a while back they had a team assigned to collecting the teeny pieces. They called them micro fossils.
@CharlestonFossilAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Yep, the microfossils are so fascinating! And that’s the exact same technique we tell all of our clients. Many times it’s the ones who are focused on finding smaller teeth that walk away with the nicest finds of the day.

Nice, I took a trip out to Bull island a cpl months ago. Didn’t find a single tooth but lots of great shells.

Hi claddagh, thanks for watching! Bull Island is a wonderful glimpse of South Carolina’s natural coastline! Definitely worth a visit. Was your pack full of shells at the end of the trip? 😄
@kevinfagan243 жыл бұрын
@@CharlestonFossilAdventures for sure it was. Lots of amazing shells. Gifted some of the finds to my family up north. My young nieces loved them.

That’s wonderful! Found items are much better gifts than anything you can buy in a gift shop!
