My name is Vincent Guyard, I was born at the end of October 1987.
I started my life with the Firemen at the age of 11.
At 16, I became a volunteer firefighter at my firehouse in Pierre Bénite in the Rhône department (69).
I then became a Young Firefighter instructor.
At 18, I became a fireman with the Paris Fire Department.
That same year, in 2006, I became French rope-climbing champion.
I only had a 5-year contract (during which I made my first KZbin videos [2007], filming myself on calls!📹💻 ).
I then worked as a bike messenger in Paris for 2 years🚴 .
In 2013 I passed the Non-officer professional fireman exam, but I decided not to become a Sapeur Pompier Professionnel and re-enlisted at the Paris Fire Department with the main goal (and huge dream) of joining the brigade📹💻 communications office! I repeated the recruitment selections and training in Villeneuve Saint Georges, where I ended up valedictorian💪 . A few months after my 2nd incorporation in a fire company, I was honored to be interviewed by the Paris Fire Brigade Communication Office, which was looking for a camera operator/editor. The head of the communication office refused to recruit me, without giving any reasons...
I then decided to leave everything to travel around the world🌍 🎒.
Since March 24, 2015 I've been mopin' around the world. I've (so far) visited Thailand for several months, crossed Vietnam and Cambodia, toured Taiwan by Auto-Stop (~2000km) sleeping only in local homes, stayed in Bali, toured - for 6 months - both islands of New Zealand by Auto-Stop (~5000km) and sleeping only in local homes too, crossed New Caledonia by Auto-Stop, visited Melbourne in Australia, lived for 6 months in Taiwan where I scooted almost 5,000km and lived through 6 typhoons, visited the Philippines and crossed Laos! I also cycled 4,000km in California for 3 months, sleeping only with local people! It was great ... :-D
On the sporting front, I've completed several major challenges: climbing Mont-Blanc and Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the New York marathon, the Diagonale des fous on Reunion Island, the Amazones raid in French Guiana...
I even went to Russia to climb Mount Elbrus (on the border with Georgia), but I had to change my plans once I got there due to terrorist attacks...
In preparation for these major challenges, I scribbled down a training program.
The Guyard method was born! 💪

Found your channel from the Rope Access Channel, loving it so far It's fascinating to see the differences in how everything operates at a fire scene, especially when the architecture seems to be much closer together compared to the US. Also, the last video I saw with French firefighters involved fist fighting cops at protests, so I'm glad to finally see your day job. Jokes aside, great stuff. POV firefighter videos are amazing for pumping yourself up Edit - I'm no firefighter, but I am a beekeeper and have removed hyper aggressive Africanized hives from peoples' houses (most are chill but every now and then they earnestly try to kill you) - I end up feeling like an astronaut surrounded by a hostile environment. I can't imagine what it's like working with enormous interconnected structure fires on a daily basis with serious risks. You guys have my utmost respect

Bonjour Vincent, a 5:55 tu ouvre une fenêtre pour photographier les gars sur l'engin aérien, je sais que tu te trouve à premiere vue dans le bâtiment d'à côté en reconnaissance mais il y avait deja de la fumée dans le grenier. Avec cette fenêtre ouverte n'a tu pas peur de modifier le profil de ventilation d'un incendie ? surtout qu'en partant tu laisse cette fenêtre ouverte... Attention hein ce n'est absolument pas une critique hein , j'adore ce que tu fais et l'utilité que ça apporte, mais c'est la première fois que je remarque ça. amicalement ;)

Il me semble que le service devrait exiger que tu sois habillié full dress et que tu devrais être endossé en tout temps. Voyons, c'est la logique même!

Si le service est sensible à la santé et sécurité de son personnel et si ton statue est considéré comme faisant partie intégrante du service incendie de Bruxelles, tant que ta situation à ce propos n'est pas réglé, tu devrais selon moi demeurer en tout temps à l'extérieur des zones de combats. Mettons qu'il t'arrive un malheureux incident et que tu subis de graves blessures le service et toi vous serez dans le gros caca.
