Thank you! I got the notification on my phone about the flare and turned on the radio to see if it was messing with HF. This was the first time I heard no signals on the FT8 frequencies on 40m and 20m. Pretty neat!

No, it wont. No worries! Big solar storms like these (geomagnetic storms) do not affect small devices. Your defibrillator would need to be the size of Lake Michigan before that became a problem. Your susceptibility is more related to radiation storms, especially while flying. Hope this helps!

One thing I'm confused about is the solar flux and what that measurement is used for. I also enjoy your forecasts. It's good to know what's happening with the sun and how it effects radio here on earth. Thanks for doing such a good job to let us know about such things. Im partial to St Johns Bay brand, but also have one favorite JMS collection shirt with those same brass rivets lining the v neck.
