Just an FYI, those are rhododendron and mountain laurel instead of magnolia.
@patsykluting-lucas38044 жыл бұрын
Thanks..I knew magnolia wasn't correct..rhododendron or laurel sounds right.
@posteroonie4 жыл бұрын
With the rhododendron having the longer leaf, and preferring the wetter areas near streams, if I recall. A few videos back AVM and Kelly were looking at the giant leaves of a wild magnolia, dropped leaves not live ones.

We have tunnels made out of Rhododendron's in North Carolina (Boone Fork Trail). They have large white blooms that add a lot to your hike.

In a nut shell, whats your typical winter like there? Im a short morning drive from lk Superior, beautiful wilderness like this, but "real" up-north winters are getting old. After the Halloween snow it warmed up. Still, it will prob be -20 to -30, always happens here after new year(at least im not further in -40 territory lol). I know Memphis, that far south is not for me. Not a city boy . Is this cooler in the summer than Memphis (from elevation)? Picky aren't I ?,,ha ha..
@cmlackey14 жыл бұрын
We have mild winters, It gets cold and we will have a few snowfalls usually just a few inches at a time. In the 20 years I lived here we seen a six inch snowfall once. Had one heck of a ice storm a few years back.

Well put Patsy. Brian and Kelly, and only a few other channels that I watch have continued to travel and share great adventures with positive attitudes despite the hurdles. On the other hand, many other nomads sit around and complain they can't really do anything due to the pandemic. They've been using it as an excuse to create drama, be lazy, and e-beg.
