Big Straight Limbed Kishu Shimpaku initial styling ... 02-02-24

We all hope and endeavor to have or acquire beautiful trees with amazing curves that all have the branches in the right places. This perfect tree with small leaves or small needles is attainable. However we need to be honest and say (sometimes this takes time). There are times when this happens or ... we make it happen. Examples are thread grafting or grafting scions on to the host species.
In this tree i worked what what was available.
I purchased this tree 9 months to a year ago and as i brought it into the garden i noticed it had spider mite. I treated and let it recover until last week. the previous owner had this tree for a very long time and never got a chance to get to it. The needle foliage was at the tips of all the branches about 6 to 9 inches from the man branches. The styling i did on this tree is an initial styling. We shall see what the future holds.

Yes that is a future Video, when I began to do the roots they were just like solid cement and completely compacted. Plus I usually work on one area of the tree give it a break and then work on another area of the tree. Thank you for your comment and observation.
