It’s actually pronounced “Puck-a-saw”. Google says it originates from the Indigenous word “Pukasu,” which is a word that Ojibwe and Cree nations use to describe how they cook bone marrow over an open fire. When we visited, somebody at the visitor centre told us that it may also have been derived from buck-saw(so puck-saw) cos there used to be a lot of logging happening back then and the govt just wanted the name to sound like first-nation😊
