Ben Colder is one of the most underappreciated singers ever. HE's awesome

Love Sheb Wooley /Ben Colder, from Erik, Oklahoma. He was a good actor as well, played on a weekly TV show called Rawhide and appeared in dozens of other shows and movies. Funny...to say the least...good clean comedy...lot's of laughs.

love Ben (Sheb), we used to listen to his albums while playing trivial pursuit in the 80's, guess I was a strange kid, lol

I have a Ben Colder Album that was my grandma's. He always reminded me of my dad. He'd make up silly words to music. Like; "You Picked A Fine Time To Leave Me Lucille", Dad would always sing "Loose Wheel".

True. They can't play this on the air anymore. They won't even play "Money for Nothin" by Dire Straits anymore. Even that's banned.

sheb wooley was my dad's second cousin; they both were born in erick, ok.

Ahh... there's no one that makes novelty comedy music anymore. People have to tip-toe around just what they're making fun of. This song is SO inappropriate these days, it makes it all the funnier. I remember this song being along with others advertised on K-Tel commercials in the 1970's. They could play this song on the radio. Imagine if someone did that now!

If this is off the "Wild & Wooley" record, could you please post more? I've been trying to find a good version of "The Rambler"

And who did the parody of "Harper Valley PTA"? It was called "The Second Day" or "The Rest Of The Day" or something like that.

Is this who did the parody of "Satin Sheets"? I've been looking for that song forever.

This sounds more like Randy Newman than Randy Newman did this early. Sheb is full of unexpected delights - it is a pity he could never stick to anything.
