@dinocubfan I see what you're saying: not even Darren can sing EVERY song...I highly doubt anyone can do that. But, the great thing about Darren is, even if he CAN'T sing a song, he changes it in some way so he can:) One of the many reasons he's such a great musician.

@KraziiIsMe If you listen to what he sings when he goes up into his higher notes, what he sings often sounds strained (a very good example is Harry Freaking Potter right before he sings the chorus.) whenever he does that it just momentarily distracts from the song. And unless I'm forgetting something, he NEVER goes low. I don't think I've heard him sing anything below tenor (which this song is). And what do you consider falsetto? Cause he doesn't sing that in any of the musicals!

In this comment I was not referring to Corey Dorris. He has a fantastic range! This was part of a discussion related to comments about how Darren Criss should do this song, and my comment refers to it not being his style or remotely his range (at least at the time, haven't heard him in a while). I can't see the original comment, so I don't remember a lot of the specifics of what I was responding to there. This was back in the heyday of Glee. You couldn't watch a Starkid video without the comments section being filed with the legions of Darren Criss obsessors.

@rayenevinluan yeah, he sings songs he wrote! He didn't write this. He writes songs that he can sing, then give to other people to sing. He can't sing this style or pitch. For some reason some people think he has the most versitile voice in the world, when he really doesn't! He has a very limited voice (notice how all of his songs are about the same range?) But if you're right about the end result, then maybe he should! There are few groups of people on this earth as annoying as fangirls!

@dinocubfan (1/3) I was referring to more of the other things he's done than the musicals. When onstage performing, I doubt he's supposed to change the song (like he does sometimes when HE'S the one performing like at a concert) so he can't add things that weren't written in there, and the point of the songs are to get across what the character is trying to say. Also, when onstage dancing, it takes the breath out of you.

@dinocubfan Limited voice??? He writes in the range he's probably most comfortable in. Like most people do. But he IS very versatile. Obviously there are SOME things he probably can't sing (not that I've seen that), but he is definitely versatile. People with limited voices can't sing some of the falsetto notes he can hit. He has a very wide range. He can go pretty high, and he can also go pretty low. So what exactly do you consider versatile?
