I recently bought the Transformers Studio Series 86 Optimus Prime that retails for $90. I love it. It's the most expensive toy I've bought for my collection that isn't a Lego set. It's probably my favorite thing I've bought the entire year. Such a great figure.

@thatoneguy378 that Yolopark Optimus looks amazing. I personally went for the 86 because I wanted the perfect Generations G1 Optimus Prime. I wanted that awesome Trailer and I wanted my perfect G1 Optimus to transform into the perfect G1 truck.

Still to date, the single most expensive figure purchase I've made was a vintage G1 Transformers Overlord. The one I bought was a European version. It was MIB with only minor flaws. I paid $450 for it. I bought it from an overseas seller, so a much higher shipping charge is factored in there as well. I still remember once I got it in the door (while I was really thrilled with it), I instantly regretted all of the trouble and expense. I already had a G1 Overlord, but it wasn't as nice. It's still one of my favorite toys, but it all just seemed it was more trouble than it was actually worth. I ended up reselling it to a friend of mine for what I paid for it (it had actually increased in value some, but I wanted to help my friend out a little bit).

I own the 1989 Alien figure after playing Alien Isolation, so it was expensive too.

I bought a test shot of MP-29 Laserwave for $900. Masterpiece Scale Transformers make up most of my collection along with retro G1. This was a piece of history I couldn’t pass up.

My most expensive figure purchase was a used set of Unite Warriors Megatronia I got for just over $300.00. It is a female Decepticon combiner that never saw a release in North America and as someone who seriously collects Decepticons, I just had to have her.

I find it hard to keep track of what I own is worth how much, but one with I was surprised by is how much some of my stuff skyrocketed without me being aware of it until recently. Thing is, I grew up in NE Ohio, and NE Ohio in the 1970s - 1990s seemed to get almost EVERYTHING that was churned out by toy companies. In 1987, our local Children's Palace had a veritable WALL of Rotars, Twistoids, and Powers of Grayskull archosaurs. (It was also the only place I ever saw an Eternia "in the wild," so to speak.) If I'd known then what I know now, I could've made a tidy profit. In 1994, I picked up all the Jurassic Park Series 2 archosaurs, including the "Demon" Carnotaurus. If I'd known that thing would almost reach 4 figures for a MISB example, I would've bought more than the one I got, then promptly opened, discarded the box, and sold the capture gear to another local collector. Then MOTU Classics came along, and had I known Scare Glow cultists would drive the price of that guy through the roof, I would've bought more than just the two I bought (both opened). And then ALL of MOTU Classics seemed to go through the roof. I suppose I should look into the prices of my stuff, now that I'm back amongst my collection, for a while . . . .

I have seen a G1 Megatron for over $1000. I purchased a Power Rangers Lightning Collection Silver Space Ranger for $60 from Thailand because the toy didn'tget delivered to the Florida Walgreens for a few years. I also bought the Walmart Jabba the Hutt for $200 because I wanted the Oola that came with it.

In my whole Spider-Man collection, amongst all the £80 Mafex figures, is a single Marvel Legends Mary Jane worth about £20 which I paid £95 for on Ebay because it was only in a six year old two-pack.

Hasbro Hulk Hogan 5 Mail Away. Bought it as a gift after I finished my dissertation. Cost me over 1000 USD, plus shipping inad imports to Sweden. Snake Mountain in Clasissics is a close second and Grayskull classics on third place.

IDK if this counts; I have an early Playarts Master-form Sora from 'Kingdom Hearts'. It was $35 when I originally got it, but now ALL Playarts, (or whatever they're called now) new AND old figures have SKYROCKETED in price, if eBay is to be believed. =0 And I got a special Palisades-Muppets Gonzo at a convention awhile back for $60, and that was just to replace my old, broken Gonzo. =\ =)

I think for me the most expensive figure I have is the Transformers Studio Series Blackout, was my fave Decepticon design in the first Bay movie, got him for a really good price and retails now for around 150€ even used or his recolored form Grindor is hard to find now. Besides that the Bionicle Kardas Dragon exclusive 3-pack and the Voporak 3-pack( never build this guy only wanted the three titan sets).

I've got a couple Titan Class Transformers (Omega Supreme, $160 & the Ark), but I think HasLab Victory Saber & Legacy Menasor cost more ($180, IIRC). Value-wise (as in paid a lot for relatively little), my most expensive purchases were probably 3rd party trailers for Reveal the Shield G2 Laser Optimus Prime (sold without his tanker trailer) & Classics Hot Rod (Rodimus Prime conversion armor). Single sets of accessories, for about $100 each. I also have a 3rd party trailer for, I think, Classics Optimus Prime, but I never had him, so I think I got it cheaper, somehow. Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime has the honor of pulling it (with a LEGO Technic pin as a hitch adapter). I don't buy 3rd party often (way too pricey), but these & a few others NEEDED their finishing touches (biggest offender being Generations Thrilling 30 Hoist, I think, who was completely missing his towing equipment - he did come with his tow hook, but none of his yellow backpack that fills in the truck bed). My biggest 3rd party purchase was Maketoys Quantron (Computron), but I got it on some kind of discount. My probably most valuable figure (as in bought at MSRP, sells way higher now) was in a hard to get 2-pack (exclusive, orders were canceled), that somehow has the wrong face (which I like better), but everything is the proper colors. Still not sure how a head-swap repaint wound up with someone else's face (best guess is the face itself is a seperate piece from the head). Not going to identify the figure for obvious reasons. He's not even a highlight of the line, he's probably a C-tier character (I don't even treat him special). I've seen him normally listed for $250, years ago, loose & correct. No telling how valuable my misassembled one is. I have an old SDF-1 that'd probably be more valuable, if it wasn't broken, from age & siblings.

I bought the Wizard exclusive Jason Todd/Hush MIB figure for $80 many years ago. Love the Jason Todd character, so I never regretted the purchase. That's the most I've paid for a figure at this point, but next year it will be beaten by Hasbro's Dragon Man ($85 + tax). That figure looks too cool to pass up and I think the price point is pretty fair, considering.

I don't have a large collection, but some stuff is pricey. A TWF09 "Freedom Leader" Optimus Prime that was maybe $200-$250 and looked right out of the Bumblebee movie. I wanted only one definitive OP and that was the best at the time. Way back I got the 2008 NECA Mirage turtles off Amazon for $50. I think it was the first thing I ever bought on Amazon. I'm considering selling them. Most expensive mistake I wasn't impressed with the original Mezco TMNT promo photos and passed on the preorder. Once people started getting them in hand, I realized my mistake and paid through the nose for them. Still my favorites. Most expensive prop replica was the HasLab Proton Pack, $400 plus another $120-ish for the wand then another $70 for an ALICE frame and other little pieces that I'm sure have made it probably an 8-$900 outlay. Don't care, love Halloween now.

My most expensive figure was my gold Dino Charge figure at $3000(1 of 20). My second was my Red Deka Ranger megazord for $2500(1 of 5). And recently I purchased a store Japanese megazord display figure who is a little over 5 foot tall for $2000. Why did I buy these I want my collection to be different than anyone else's collection. I decided years ago I did not want a generic Power Ranger collection. Most just collect MMPR. I collect every season both in Japan and in the United States.

He refers to himself as a toy maker because he designed an action figure. I don't agree with it either, but he's not going to change his perspective on the matter, as he's been saying it for years. One-time toy designer, maybe. But toy maker? No. But he also talks as if he's still in the toy industry, which he isn't.
