If you're gonna have a go at welding that hub up, check out some of Cutting Edge Engineering's videos for weld prep and preheat advice, but maybe not bother with the Pakistani Truck channel though ? Although extremely entertaining to watch, and you can't fault their work ethic, they do some sketchy fixes and take struggling to the next level !

Lean the pulse wheel with a wire brush pull the sensor out check the face for any rubbing that will explain the shiny bit on the pulse wheel, I’ve got a good abs sensor cut the end strip the ends back plug into the sensor spin the wheel and check with a DMM on millivolts

Try passing a magnet over phones mike very quikly, to remove metal grindings from it, be carefull not to stong a magnet or it will f**k it up. Working with metal does not help phones, many welders put their phones in poly bags at work. before i retired as Farrier Blacksmith I was lucky to get a phone to last a year. My newest phone has a mike and speacker cleaner in it!

Seen similar abs faults where exciter ring has been partly pushed away from disc by corrosion on the disc making it rub on sensor as it wobbles when wheels rotate.

Horses boxes awful When I was an apprentice with Bedford trucks I blew an inner rear TK tyre and it must have been running flat for months just got it to pressure and it let go all the shite blew me away across the shop 11 stone wet through and I stunk of shit and piss Terrible things Be safe

7:50 Nothing wrong with admitting shortcomings. We all do different things. Im much like yourself an independent small time guy. I just had a customer who was at the local Ford dealership for some extended warranty work. The dealer called him to tell him about a ABS wire that was broken rubbing on tire. He approved them to repair it. It was the left front wheel. The dealer tech went to the module and cut the right front wire and ran new wires from module (RF) to the left front sensor. The vehicle still had left front fault. The tech then cut the wires 2 times and swapped them back and forth and still had ABS fault for LF. They told him he needed a new module for about 1300. He called to ask for a quote and I gave him one for a used module. When he showed up I looked for that module and it was so burried I couldnt find it. WHen I did it was back on firewall and backwards so you would have to remove whole module. I then decided to find the problem and low and behold it was the dealer that was the problem. THing is if he approved that repair for 1300 and they replaced it and it still didnt work they then would have found the problem and charged him for the module anyway.

I was told when your hair stops growing in one place it just grows in another. So a bald head means you end up with hairy shoulders! 😭. As an amateur, when I got abs I wire brushed the reluctor ring as crammed with dirt. Unhook the battery terminals for 30 mins and it disappeared never to be seen again!

Eh up struggler, your taction control light is linked to the struggle bus's ABS sensors that's how it monitors and reduces wheel spin. You've probably got an open circuit on the abs sensor that's why your abs light was on plus your traction control light buddy. The struggle bus needs a plug in! So you know which wheel needs a new sensor or pick up ring/joint.

@@Professional-struggler all 3 faults are caused due to loss of signal from the ABS sensor. Shouldn't be a hard fix you just need to see live data upon plug in buddy to see which wheel sensor is out of spec. Good olde struggle bus, she saw the horse box with an ABS fault & thought ah! I'd like a bit of attention too 🤣🤣

@@Professional-struggler Hi Chris your van doesn't have a fuel pump inertia switch just a electromechanical solenoid that allows fuel through to the pump on start up & cuts off via ignition key on shut down. Hope this helps.

If d&j can’t get all the problems sorted with little red done on warranty, it’s going to cost them a fortune. In my experience with Chinese made stuff it’s throw away material. My sons had the Chinese import quad bikes years ago and they either shake themselves to bits or the frames snap. Ended up buying Honda apache quads in the end. More money but they were bulletproof.

As a business you go cheap Chinese and struggle with the junk, lack of parts, proprietary threads and it never is right, or go brand name and it’s “fine”, you just pay more in parts. My mate bought a quad from China, lasted 4 months, wasted good money after bad trying to fix it, never worked again, scrapped it 😂. Your certainly going to have a job for life if Dave chooses to keep it. Good luck welding that hub, it’ll certainly save some money if it works. That’s the problem with industrial stuff, it always costs, but it’s good quality (generally). Great catch on the BBQ, looks a beast! Keep on struggling!!!

i know what you mean about those eye brow hairs i got them to regards little red typical chinese shit poor metal quality i watch the mechanics channel on FB and they are always doing hubs / diffs /and third diffs rear balance beams snapping off . nothing to loose welding that hub up it's already fucked give it ago and keep up the struggle .
