Love your shirt!! I actually like Genie Plus and feel like Sam, that I have mastered the Genie system. We are passholders from another state and like to stack our LLs for a nice afternoon at the park, riding all our favorite rides with no wait. I loved how genie let you overlap plans and I’m thinking the new ride reservation will be like old fastpass, where you cannot overlap your plans. Stacking will be limited to 3, because you have to ride to be able to book the next option for that tier. I’m hoping for the best, but genie was so easy and park hop friendly.

I like the LL Multi Pass and LL Single Pass better than Genie+ for sure. But… FastPass was 3 months in advance and free! Wish FastPass would come back, but glad Genie+ is gone :)

😊 Again it was a great update time😊 we appreciate it so much. Now, we never used FAST Pass, Genie+, or Lightning Lanes before,but I think we will definitely use the new Lightning Lane Plus on our 2026 vacation. It might be different by the time we go who knows,but this new system sounds perfect for out of tower vacationers. We been in 2020 and 2022, and hopefully again in 2026. We don't get to go to Florida, from Tennessee, to often, so we want to ride our favorite rides or new rides when we get to go. We'll see how this new system works. Thanks for keeping us updated. Thanks for the update... You rock! The new Lightning Lane Multi Pass looks EXACTLY like the old Fast Pass + …. EXCEPT… the pre plan window is shorter AND you have to pay for it. I truly think that when people say they miss the old Fast Pass + they are mostly meaning that they miss having a “no extra cost” option to ride at least a few rides without a crazy wait time. When Genie + launched it was only $15. Now most days that you truly need it the cost is around $40… per person. If you are one person… maybe. If you have a family of 5… well that’s not an easy decision. The one saving grace is that if you knew how to stack the LL picks… you can end up getting quite a few rides into one day. Now it looks like that will be going away but the cost remains. I wander if the 120 minute rule will stay in place... it doesn't seem so. I remember being frustrated with Fast Pass + at times in the past because you get a solid 3 picks and then most of the rides you want would be “sold out” for the day and you only got 3 passes…. Or you had to settle for rides you wouldn’t need a fast pass for anyway. Especially in parks where the rides had tiered levels and you only got one top tier pick. In hindsight… there was nothing to complain about because it was free. Now????? Well… no one is forcing us to buy it…. Only time will tell.

Yes air conditioning and shady areas are great! It gets dog gone hot at the original Disneyland too, though not humidity for the most part! It can be in the 90s and 100s there often. It will be interesting to see how the new system works out, will see. Sounds like it will be another learning curve. Keep us up to date, especially for my daughter's upcoming trip out there, whenever it will be! Thanks Jackie!

Growing up in St Augustine we had some great Caribbean vibes. The Old Mill Bar had a two story water wheel and a second story open air veranda with great views of Castillo de San Marcos and Matanzas Bay. Disney..you want..no you need a second story pirate bar at Pirates. It would be awesome.

I’m definitely concerned about the change. My family have 2 days at Disney in August and we only get there maybe once every few years. I hope by the time I can go in to make LL selections, all the most popular ones aren’t already gone to those who are getting there earlier and just happen to have a longer vacation. I wish they would have just opened up reservations 7 days before the theme park date for everyone at the same time and not made it for your entire stay but just for the one day at a time and each day they open up the next park day.

I cannot wait to ride POTC again, last time I rode it was before the first film. I also ordered my Jack Soarrow Mickey Ears I can’t wait. A newer lounge would be awesome, Park is looking great as always. With the new lightening lane it seems like it’s gonna be more of a pain. September be my first time visiting since 2001, I’ve been cramming at this genie plus lightening lanes tools into my head now I gotta unlearn those and learn the newer system 😢. Hope I’ll be able to get on some rides quicker than the standby lines.

I think the LL system sounds like a definite improvement from the confusing Genie+ system, but not quite as good as old FP+, (especially not the price lol)…. I like that you can book three attractions in advance again, but a detail that *is* better than FP+ is that you can only reserve up to 7 days in advance of your trip, not months… I never liked having to choose that far out, and it was certainly nearly impossible for me to ask opinions of my less-informed, spontaneity-loving family so early.

The fact that Disney is not allowing their paying “park hopper” guests to book their 3 ride options -in more than ONE park per day-using this new Lightening Lane Multi Pass system is really disappointing.This feels like a money grab to me. Could I book a ride in another park (subject to availability) after I use my first selection for the day? Sure. Will there be any rides/times left for me to book in other parks? Doesn’t really sound like it! With Genie + I could book rides in any park at 7am. This allowed my family to book a 6pm Slinky Dog and an 8am Everest… on the same day…and continue booking all day. There really is no incentive to pay for park hopping now honestly.

LOVE your shirt! Summer of neon or no summer of neon, Max Goof is timeless! 😎 We're so excited to see the new Pirates lounge, and, as DVC members, we're pretty excited to see the DVC lounge too. Sad to see the shooting gallery go on the basis of history, theming and ambience...but as we've walked past it a hundred times and never once stopped in to actually use it, we probably contributed to its demise. 😅 Funny how Genie+ is effectively being retro-fitted with the previous FastPass+ features, after all that bravado! I'm sure that there will be some growing pains, but being able to plan in advance is key for us as out-of-staters; so overall I think we're happy with this change. Between this system overhaul and the Test Track reimagining, it seems like Disney is really trying to roll back the clock to our early visits. Back in the lamp with you, Genie! 😂 Great video, Jackie. We had to pause at 24:13 to better understand things. At EPCOT, Guardians of the Galaxy is not listed as a Tier I and thus must be in another category. That just makes things even more confusing especially for the first time visitor. Your "exasperated nostalgia" at 31:52 for the way things used to be is exactly our sentiment.

Yes I started using it in Jan and didn’t like it and have been alternating between it and the GoPro hero 12 black. They both do a great job and excellent quality! Neither is perfect tho. I still don’t love the gimbal and am getting used to it. It’s fun trying new things tho!

Hey there Jackie. Great job as always. I love how you point out the little details that are often overlooked. Between that and your enthusiasm and the helpful hints and tips that you provide, you could really have your own travel show on tv. Kind of like Samantha Brown. I haven't been to Disney World in almost 18 years, so it will probably be like a whole new world for me 😄. I don't understand why they can't go back to the original Fastpass system. Why should you have to pay more for something like that. It's already expensive enough just to get there. Oh, well, I haven't agreed with much that Disney has done lately anyway. But I still plan to go back at some point. It's just been so much a part of my life for so long. I guess it wouldn't bother me if I didn't care so much. And I rarely used the Fast Pass anyway. I’m nervous for the first time using the new system, but I also really like pre-planning things. My main concern is that at parks like Epcot, the only three rides that you need Genie Plus for are in the “choose one” category. In that situation it seems sorta like a ripoff. I’m happy all the rides at Animal Kingdom are on the same level though.

Once the new Universal park opens the problem may fix itself. Disney park ride times will be so low they won't require any sort of "pass" system. (I know this isn't true but we can dream lol)

So my thought is that Disney should get rid of reservations immediately. Then secondly I think they should give passholders the option of 3 fast pass options choosing before each visit. Passholders have been in the past and continue to be a huge part of their profit margin. We buy more food we buy more merchandise because we come more often. We spend a great deal of money and Universal is noticing that fact and treating passholders better. Whether It is neelected or not there will be a new theme park opening in a few months if Disney wants to keep people coming to their parks they're going to need to show that they give a care.

I am so excited about the new changes. I could not stand Genie+. I always stay at the resorts so it works for me. I mean, if we’re staying at the resorts and we’re paying those expensive prices, we should have some more perks. I’m just saying. At least you will be able to pick for a scheduled visit 3 days in advance. It’s going on two years since I’ve been to Disney and I hate it. I am going to Tokyo Disney in October. I’m only gonna go for two days and one night. Their vacation packages are crazy but I’m going to Japan for 14 days, so I’m ready to explore the rest of Japan. I’m hoping and praying I can cram everything in two days at Tokyo Disney. I think I can, though because since I’m getting a vacation package, I have the priority pass available to me. I use to go every year, I wish I still did 😢
