Only a surfer knows the feeling of getting trapped inside bombing sets. My first encounter that really humbled me was when I was body surfing some heavy shorepound at a beach in LA called west ward zuma. Timed up one of the set waves wrong cause I was reluctant on what to do. My thoughts were should I swim and try to make it through this set and hope the lip doesn’t land right on my head. Long story short the lip landed right on me on a set wave that was easily 9 foot. Got held under for around 15 seconds which feels way longer when it’s happening to you. Did so many somersaults I couldn’t find out which way was up or bottom. Was so relieved I made it back to the shore that day. I honestly thought I was going to die.

DAAAAMMMNN! That is absolutely the best Comp. Video I am yet to watch until this one! I don’t know any of the bands or anything about the surfers. Every song in this vid belonged in it. As someone who has just gotten into surfing as in surfing breakers to the shore this is so inspirational, currently trying to go out the back and surf the bit between where the wave is smooth and breaking. Only 3ft waves with 6ft faces adn I’m not very good but its great fun

They're so big / tall / many feet above heads of surfers 🏄‍♀️ Man... They're so talented & gifted on those waves... Wish I could of developed a love for surfing when I was younger... Yea the surface pressure and weight of all water collapsing on you has to be insane. There has to be a technique they train for to mitigate it. Maybe swimming down as much as they can? Just speculating not too sure.
