I've been to Puerto when it was much smaller, and even then it's a sketchy wave. There's no one spot to actually line up as the waves break in different spots and it's constantly shifting. The bottom is HARD packed sand so when you go down you get DRILLED. It was fun but very very sketch.

I surfed Puerto at about 3-4 ft and it was heavy even at that size. No channel and heavy rips can turn your dream surf into a nightmare quickly. Big respect to anyone surfing Puerto on the day in this video.

I surfed Puerto a few times back in the 90's. never bigger than 8ft. Even at that size guys were breaking boards. It's a beach break so peaks shift around a lot. Max Props to you guys dropping in on those bombs.

.people don't realise...rythym/momentum whatever you want to call it plays a huge part of surfing. if your in rythym and have good session, it can make your day, if not it can suck and leave you feeling bummed out, like the biggest kook on the planet. in big beachies all it takes is starting ur session on the wrong wave, or paddling out at the wrong time. Had those days where you watch a perfect set up the beach, paddle over to that bank, then watch it bomb back where you were sitting, and nothing breaks where you are. days like i get so angry that i paddle in..harder when your in a contest. mother nature can be a bitch and she always has the final say....thankfully other days your a wave magnet..it balances out in the end i geuss.. well done Billy yeew!!!!!
