@ryancraig27957 жыл бұрын
Me, too. Really talented bands and artists can do justice to their recorded music live, others, not so much. Rush is a great example of this (although Geddy's voice is maybe getting a little past it, sorry to say). Or Matthew Good - the guy's singing live sounds exactly like his recorded stuff.

The original studio cut goes from a tasty slide lick into a rocking track. Then this version goes from a Nashville country lick into a monster jam, into a bluesy octave fuzz solo. This was such a tight lineup in the band's existence.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpvNhWCan7Frjs0 Now, the audio is not professional quality by any means and they are down one guitar, but............ You get the picture.
@WarmothGuitarist2 жыл бұрын
@@marcuswernicke9018 Being down a guitar player isn't a big deal for BW. They don't actually need three guitar players. I'm not even sure why they had three, maybe for a bigger live sound, but that can be accomplished with equipment such as stereo amp rigs and/or about 20ms of delay from a pedal or rack processor. Regardless of the need... Brian (R.I.P.) and Paulo definitely added to the huge live sound. They're both missed.

Show me a band that can play a set this good - playing on a backline at NAMM? Yeah, they had their pedalboards - but if you’ve ever played at NAMM it’s a clusterf*ck. You can’t fake talent. Back in 2014 I nearly died from an illness that took me years to recover from. I had a friend who’s wife did PR for the band that shared that my whole physical therapy was walking miles to their music, shared my story with Ian and the boys. Long story short: Ian and the whole band sent me a care package with merchandise, signed CDs, signed pictures, hell, even an Ian guitar slide - but it comes down to this: Ian wrote me … ME, a personal note encouraging my recovery. Brilliant musicians, killer band … yes. But Ian was intimate and engaging with me .. a guitarist in Texas, for god’s sake. I’ll cherish this band. Of course they are incredible, but the whole band wrote me individual notes. All they knew was that a fan was recovering and they gave freely of themselves. I swear, if you don’t like them - I’ll challenge you to a knife fight! *(Whatever that means!). Thank you Ian and fam.;

The irony is that Ian allegedly wrote and arranged this song to sound like Soundgarden (as a touch of irony in itself in regards to the lyrical meaning), then, as he's aged, his voice naturally grew into sounding a lot like Chris Cornell's. He sounds even more like Cornell now on "Fear and Cowardice". Also... That progression starting a 5:09 is too similar to the The Smashing Pumpkins' "Jackboot" to not be intentional.
