This song makes me emotional, my father passed on when I was 13years old and my mother left us to be married to another man. My grandmother took us in with nothing to give us but she did her best but what makes me so emotional is that when I made it my grandmother had already passed on and she couldn't enjoy the fruits she worked hard for 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

My mother worked for a University here in Namibia in one city and she would gather the remains of the food from the students lunch and dinner that she prepared for them. She would then dry the bread on top of the house, pack them up and she then sent them to us in the village. We ate those dry breads with joy cause we thought that is how bread looked, tasted and felt like. Anytime she is arriving in the village, the neighbours joined us to go carry her luggages because we knew she brought us some stuff. This song took me back there.

I get so emotional when playing this song... growing up, we lost our grandparents who were our only source of income. Lived on handouts, from neighbors to the educators. I was an A student, wasn't easy coz when I got home there would be nothing to eat. I will never forget 2006 Christmas day when we literally had nothing to eat. Kodwa God is great, I now have 2 kids, 9 years and 3 years, and I swore that they'll never experience the trauma I've been through. Avulekile Amazulu 😇🙏

This song reminds me times when i used to live in a large family, where we could literally sleep on the floor and go to school with no shoes on, i wasnt aware of the situation , i thought it was normal for us to stay like that, i thought things would get better when i get to high school and varsity but i couldnt get a break, i would sleep in res with no food , it was hard for me to concentrate ,cause the degree was hard, but i would persevere and act like everything was okay, i would push hard every night to get myself out of the dark place , along with my family, i never allowed anything to break me no matter, how many times suicidal thoughts hit, I thank God i managed to complete my chemical engineering degree through those tribulations and pain, i never thought i would even get past 25 , im praying every night for God to help me build my mama a huge house, as am kick starting my career , m praying i make good decisions throughout to not forget where i come from and become an example even towards those who are undergoing what i had been through, all i can say is dont give up ,its unfortunate that some of us are having it hard, its not ur fault to grow up in a messy situation but pray to not be absorbed in the situation, get urself out there , there are many opporrtunities out there.
