So did we miss the part where you checked rod bolt stretch, ? just asking for the guy in the next lane while you are slinging those Alum Rods at 7700 RPMs My Uncle makes a set up that eliminates the VVT phaser, but still uses a VVT cam. Nutter racing (now closed) the big issue with their set up was the spacer would weld it's self to the None VVT cam's nose if oiling pressure dropped off then it would spin in the journal and block off oiling to the rest of the block.....Not pretty at 9k RPMs . Nutter's set up shaved about 3lbs off the rotating weight of the cam. The set up my uncle makes shaves 4lbs off rotating weight and uses a double roller timing chain......but FWIW we've gone 9200 with a locked out OEM phaser. Another FWIW @ 4:00 you can see the 2nd crank oiling hole that is part of the 6.4 oiling system, the 5.7s and 6.1 blocks don't have that extra hole, it is that extra oiling to the crank that allows the 6.4s to go in to the 8k RPM area with a "stock" style oil pump. the pumps on the 5.7s and 6.1s will start to cavate around 7500-7800 RPM from built up pressure. On the Spintron we don't see the 3.72 stroke OEM crank start to jump rope in-till about 8100ish with the stock main caps and studs , while the 5.7 cast crank jump ropes @7400(ish) with stock caps and bolts, ad Billet caps and studs and 7800 is pushing it. Best OEM crank for G3 hemi High RPM Junkies is the Hellcat crank, the 6.1 crank will spin as high ,but the cross drilled nature of the crank starves the rod bearings around 7700RPMs, Hennessey has gone 1800hp with a (preped)stock BGE block. OST has gone 1700hp. several others are in the 1600hp zone, HHP has a few in the high 1400s.

Thank you for this! I've been really on the fence of gen 3 hemi swapping my small block powered 79 Volare Duster because my main goal is to take it on drag and drives, I don't think any factory small block is capable of making that kind of power unless it's one of the R series blocks from Mopar, but those are rare as hen's teeth and usually cost a pretty penny. For parts availability alone I feel like I almost have to go gen 3 hemi too. Looks like I'm now searching for a 392 BGE block :)

That’s impressive. The valvetrain doesn’t require much to make it capable of some high RPM. And the blocking being pretty stock too.

Don’t hear about a Hemi in a fox body much but I love it! Down the road I’d like to build one like this but currently running a bb mopar with a procharger. Is that a stock block being pushed to 1500 hp? Edit: sorry I heard it later on in the video stock block. That’s awesome!

I come up to B3 for fittings and this car pulls out to go for lunch. Sounds so bad ass up close.

Love the content!! How many RPM would you trust the stock rocker arms?

When you had the drop in piston/rod combo with the factory crank, how much horsepower/torque did it make?
@Big3RacingАй бұрын
Over 1200

@ ok thanks for the reply. I have a 2022 Ram 2500 6.4 with the BGE block. I’m gonna do some upgrades like drop in piston/rod combo, high volume oil pump, headers,hellcat lifters, cnc factory heads and add a supercharger. Goal is 1000 whp / about 1200 crank. Just wanted to know if the stock crank could hold the power. Ohhhh and billet main caps. Main studs/ head studs

Very Nice keep up the amazing work and good luck with the new combination. 👍🏼💪🏼🏁

Bob, what caused the ring wear and what was the fix?
@Big3Racing6 ай бұрын
basically the hone wasnt done right for the rings. There needs to be some deeper valleys to hold some oil for the rings

@@Big3Racing Most definitely in all the 6 second cars, they need to. In this case for a stock block HEMI, I'm not sure if want to be tearing it down every 20 passes to slap another $2000 set of rods in it.

How long will the rods last?
@TheRealDonJohnson6 ай бұрын
@@ls7camero Really depends on RPM/Horsepower/heat cycles. They're usually rated at 15/20 1/4 mile passes before you should at least take them out to check them for stretch or stress marks.
@Big3Racing6 ай бұрын
at my power levels i will cycle them out every winter, so about 1500-2000 street miles and about 100 passes
