That is a stunning car for 700 bucks. These were from a good generation of XJ where they had really nailed the reliability and quality at that point. I’d trust if cross country for sure. A good service (possibly cambelt etc) and detail and she will look fantastic. You did a really good job and this car is worth spending some money on for sure. You’ve saved a lovely old girl and she’s back on the road. Brilliant job Al

My family owned an XJ6 4.2 litre 1970 for fifteen years, always a pleasure to drive, perfect gran turismo car, a mix of luxury, beautiful styling and sporty handling, great for long road trips, although it doesn't have the solidity and reliability of the German cars, but it doesn't matter, it's so elegant and prestigious and always leaves a smile on peoples faces, I wish you good luck with this elegant white Jag. Congratulation! You got a beautiful car for cheap. This kind of repair is actually what I always did on my daily beaters. Buy them cheap, fix them cheap and drive them. I always planned to fix those cars better one day, but in general I just drove them like that until age ended the life of the vehicles or I could even sell them very cheaply. The only thing I would do in your situation: Source a marker light, used or new, clean the car and polish it a bit. And the pinstripe I would fix that as well. It is unbeliavable how broken some plastic bumpers were that I saved somehow. While they were never perfect, they looked good enough.

No because the other side of the car has two doors painted while the fender and rear quarter are original. So passenger side mismatched as well.
