The vocals were really good on this but I can't help but be frustrated when I hear English adaptations of foreign songs that essentially ignore the original lyrics. I can understand if it's done because the original lyrics were trash but otherwise to me it makes little sense unless it's for parody purposes. It's strange in this version too because the chorus was adapted really well in English as it sticks as close as it can to the original Korean but apart from that, for whatever reason the original Korean lyrics are ignored for the rest of the song. There are cover artists on youtube like MCYabisi, Angky & Arlene, Jason Ray, Sal-V, etc... that are so good at adapting the original lyrics to make them work in English not just ignoring the original wholesale (unless again, the original lyrics were trash). Don't misunderstand me. This is still very good work, I just think they went too far from the original lyrics even though the original lyrics were good enough to keep.

DaRunningMan they can't keep the lyrics the same because the lyrics need to rhyme dude..whether it is rap or just singing, you must have noticed that the words are often chosen in a way that sounds attractive to the ears, if they just literally translated the song into english they wouldn't get this effect

Korean is complicated to translate perfectly because they have different styles of sentences. Its not a translation its an adaptation. Try to translate 1 to 1 and you get awkward phrases like "to the beautiful you" and "you who is in bloom" it's just awkward. The main point is he was able to convey the meaning in a way English speaking people can understand.

But BOY WAS I WRONG! Chad I know When I am talking to people about you, I always tell them how good you are bu I always see room for improvement...I don't know what happened but you jumped from like a 72 to a 90 out of 100 on skill level. Chicken Is not my style well for me to start off with, I am not the biggest big bang fan. They have a couple of good songs that I like so it's always a 50/50 chance when it comes down to their songs and I. I understand that this version didn't have as much soul as big bang but at the same time, I like the togetherness I got from chad and preston in this duo(in the song, not the vid). I didn't really get that vibe from big bang much. I feel like they've been apart for so long that now when they come together, they don't really sound "together" if that makes sense? I remember listening to them and they sounded so in sync with each other even when they weren't singing and rapping at the same time. Now I just don't really get that vibe anymore. I think it's going to take them getting used to being back together again

My used to be friend introduced my to this song but to the original one. It was his favourite song and he was really important to me. Later on this very friend was a cause of my huge breakdown. After our break up i found this vid. I was so in love it. But the very first times hurt me so much that i needed to try several times before i could listen to the whole vid. Right now im making notes on the whole story of my breakdown (i have my 1st psychiatric appoitment tomorrow) while listening to it. Because of these two things together i find it really hard to breathe (guess i have a panic attack or something) but God. All the bad memories and feelings and im still able to genuily enjoy the vid. Please wish me good luck in 13 hours. I'll really need it. 😅

This is THE best English cover of a k-pop song I've ever come across. The lyrics were translated well, the rhyming was amazing and even the syllables count complimented the original feel of the song. Most English covers don't care about the syllables count and just cram too many word in a line, which kinda ruins the feel. But you made everything PERFECT! Great job!!

I subscribe to other popular yt'bers who do kpop covers, and though I love the hard work they put into it LOSER, as usual, they cram too many lyrics into the lines so it feels really forced (and again, I love their work. God knows I couldn't do it lol). BUT I KNEW YOURS WOULD FLOW, I WASN'T DISSAPPIONTED!! You never try to force too many words into lines by using the literal English translation. Rather, you just try to capture the FEELING of the words, and then you sing/rap it just the way it'd be said in a normal conversation in English. AND BECAUSE OF THAT......THIS. WAS. PERFECT!! Of course, I hated seeing you get your heart broken (THE LITTLE WITCH). I had to hold it together a couple of times there, cuz even tho I knew it was just a song, your acting was spot-on believable.
