KPOP is currently at a creative plateau where everything sounds the same and the korean public are in need of unique music that will switch things up again, which is something I know GD will do. Celebs (Korean and foreign) were often saying they're a fan of BB. But a lot of them are now naming BP or BTS. Not that I'm surprised because that's just how it is with popularity and it's the harsh truth. Popularity like that comes and goes. It's what happens after that matters and it's clear now that people still want music from BB. People are still talking about them even when they're out of the spotlight. So even if they can't beat BTS in terms of popularity, it doesn't matter. They've still got loyal fans that stayed with them through thick and thin, which there's still like a LOT of us. Lol. They've also been gaining a lot of new fans during their hiatus. So I won't be worried about their popularity coz like @ETRA said, their music will speak for themselves, just like it always has. And they're not after popularity anymore. Not like they've ever been, though. So yea, I'm just gonna sit back and wait patiently, and get ready to support the boys whenever their comeback happens. Seriously, I'm not new to Kpop. Started listening to groups like cnblue, super junior. Came across big bang music in passing when I was watching agfriend on weekly idol some time back but didn't do a follow up. But this early this year after seeing an old video of kwanghee in a studio with GD and Taeyang, I became curious. I initially felt a bit bad for Kwanghee when he kept making mistakes and GD was correcting him. I knew of Kwanghee but was ignorant of the others so I was like who is this person. Then began my search and I don't even remember I listened to other groups before discovering big bang. It's a whole new world altogether. They have raised the standard indeed at least for me.
