Nice review , really interesting. It is worthwhile to visit the British Museum. The exhibits are so well displayed and history told explicitly. I got to learn how the Roman Empire was divided west and east because of cultural complexity. We can understand this the present context. Visit to this museum and others like natural history and war museum are actually free and they have some counters prompting for donations if we wish to do. As you mentioned once you see those items in person it makes you feel helpless but desperate to have them back in India.
