and as weird as it may appear, young shaldon is arguable better written overall. both series are great, but TBBT feels mostly like random gag collection loosly tied up with 4 similar nerds, wheras young sheldon is full family package , a lot more diverse, disscussing all sorts of values , where every character has his own depth and arc.

i personally love the ironic contrast.when he was young,he acted mature and adult-like so people can take him seriously (but really, he's still just a kid and can be incredibly immature as he canonically has low eq). but as he grew up, far from his family, the years where he held back his inner child started coming out which explains his childlike tendencies and worsened his eq until penny and amy came in his life.

I love how they used the same actor for young Sheldon. Blackish did not do this. They made younger rainbow some other lady, but perhaps that was cause those flashbacks were before mixedish, while this episode took place after young Sheldon first aired.

So if he did stop his dad from taping over it maybe he wouldnt have realized how important his dad was in his life so many years later and George would have came out worse in the series but while watching the video he realized what a good dad he was.

In TBBT episode that showed Leonard first meeting Sheldon in the apartment and made the roommate agreement, part of the agreement was that if either made a time machine, the first place they'd visit was in the apartment right at that moment... neither arrived so they decided they couldn't make one.
