What I think the message is from Zombie Kid is The mother locked him up his whole life to hide him because she think he is emotionless. And she loves him so much that she gave him everything, her flesh, her life. But finally, she didn't know that what her Zombie kid needed the most was her embrace, not those things. That's why he said "Mom, you are so warm" with emotions when he finally could embrace her torso that he was fed for the last time. Summary, all the parents love their child, but some go in wrong way of expressing their love. Sorry, my English is not very good. Love your guys' reactions. Waiting for next episodes.

I'm glad people are starting to appreciate how good kdramas are. The cinematography and story telling is so well dome in Korean film. It's on another level. I'm not sure how much y'all know about Fairy Tales but what she writes are considered Fairy Tales (probably not for little kids, maybe for teens and older). Fairy tales are meant to show real world problems in a fantasy world . If you check out the original stories of stories like The Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast (not the Disney versions!) you'll see how mild Ko Mun Young's stories really are. 😂

Originally, fairy tales are rather terrifying stories made to be moral lessons or learning about social life. It was Disney (among others) who softened them so as not to shock puritan America.

the villa actually has no ghosts or spirit or whatsoever. every scene that looks dark or supernatural is just either flashback or dream. And it shows how bad the intensity of dreams are and how it causes damage to mental health imo there is a bit of supernatural element to this drama but not that big

To be honest aside from all bonds of family and love, the amount physical and mental toll it is to take care of someone with a severe mental ailment can be astronomical. Like he even has to be aware of and control his emotions and even facial expressions at all times just so his brother can be at ease. That kind of repression of your self and desires, especially for a long time will fuck a person up. It is not healthy and I don't judge anyone for having some resentment and anger at having such a duty because it is natural to feel that way. Perfectly human.

There's something interesting about how dark the children's books appear, i think it has a lot to do with culture, because i remember the children story i used to read were pretty dark, i remember this lullaby that was literally talking about cannibalism, the thing is, when i was a child i never really realized how dark it was. I read somewhere that old children use to be so dark and scary because back in the day those stories were used in a way to warn children's about dangers while teaching them about morality, also time and places were a big influence, if somewhere was in war for example the children's story reflected that, because even if some people don't want to admit it, children are very perceptive and finding a simple way to explain to them the sometimes harsh reality of the world is better than pretending that everything is perfect and good, and even if her way are a bit "clumsy" i think it's because Moon- Young acknowledge children as people who are very much capable of understanding serious things is the reason she write her books the way she does. Also you'd be surprised how much children enjoy more the "gory" ugly cartoons rather than cutesy stuff

@@newaccount6414 The traditional children's stories are pretty dark. It's just that Disney watered down the stories so much. So, things like The Little Mermaid are a lot darker in the original text vs. Disney. Remember the last episode talking about The Red Shoes and cutting off the feet? That was written by the same author as The Little Mermaid.

Out of all Moon Young's stories, the zombie kid is one of my top two favorites. Maybe I was mentally unstable at that time that I cried a lot with Sang tae after reading the story. What I love Kangtae for is that he is so human, bc in my opnion, he does resent his brother for having to take care of him and also bc, in some ways, he never had his mother care and love. But at the same time, he loves his brother so much that he cannot leave him alone. Kangtae takes care of his brother bc he loves him, but he also resents him.

I gotta say, I was in the conductor's seat of the train in the beginning of the first episode but then went to the caboose for a while but slowly moved up to the cars one by one. I have older sis w Down syndrome so since i was a kid i felt like the reason of my existing was to take care of her i KNOW everything he is talking about i kin him so so much that each episode makes me cry of how relatable it is even the bad though that comes sometimes that he experienced made me cry for hours that someone felt the same and that im not horrible person for thinking like that sometimes . A little suggestion for you : If you want to see a good movie that can make your whole body and mind shaking to its core, then I STRONGLY (and I repeat it again, STRONGLY!) suggesting you to see a movie called MIRACLE IN CELL NO 7. This movie is sooo good even I still can't move on from this one, and I personally think this movie is wayyy more touching than All Of Us Dead, Train To Busan, or any Korean movies and series that l've watched before. Another interesting fact is that the actor who played as Lord Cho Hak-ju in Kingdom is the main protagonist of the movie. I'm pretty sure as hell you will be totally shock to see his performance in that movie and also upset when you watch it. You don't believe me? Then go watch it for yourselves, I DARE YOU NOW!
