Straight up kanaka! Love your videos. I'm in the process of getting my shit together to start printing shirts for an RC kind of club that I'm putting together. It's so expensive to have other companies do it for me. I'll do it myself. If something more comes out of it, great, if not, oh well. Again, love your videos. Ke Akua Pu kanaka!

I think about this a lot now that I’m starting up my first shop. Almost all of my competition in here in Albuquerque makes shirts and hats only based on Albuquerque, and New Mexico culture in general. A lot of them are homies but I feel like that puts you in a bubble so fast, it’s easy money though so I get it.

My advice is not to go back and forth with trolls. You’re wasting your valuable energy and adding fuel to the fire. Simply ignore or address in a video if you really want to.They will get bored and move on. Going back and forth exacerbates the issue. On a lighter note I am enjoying your vids. Close to 60yrs and it’s never too late to acquire new skills.

Hey there blessings to you and your family! I've been watching your videos and I'm impressed with how you and your wife hustled to get where you are today! I ventured out to forefill one of my dreams in the t- shirt business! Unfortunately the company I had making the shirt wasn't any wiggle room for me so I'm back to square one! I've had my heat press for almost a year but havent pressed one t-shirt! One one of your videos you were saying what you had in your head for a design you couldn't quite put it on paper! Well that's what I've been struggling with! My brain is strange lol! It's a lot i want to do! Dealing with a health issue wasn't making it no better so I had to move away from it for a minute! I contacted parasol but again the design just didnt fit! It wasn't the look I had in my head! I would love to get back to what I know I can do just need a lil help getting it exicuted! Your videos are refreshing and you are so inspiring to others! I thank you for sharing your experience and taking the time to make videos to help all of us who struggle to get turned in the right direction!! Much respect to you and your family! God BLESS ❤🤗🙏😇👍new friend btw!

I've thought about featuring NYC in some way in the brand I'm conceiving, but backed off because of what you said - I want to sell everywhere. People worldwide might like something with NY on it, because it's an international city, but there still might be a ceiling on that. I have thought about featuring other cities on designs, but I'll see how I feel about that down the line. For now, I won't make anything location-based.
@BigBrandoh5 жыл бұрын
good call. lesson learned. if i could go back and start that brand over. i'd cover more ground keeping the brand name neutral and give me flexibility to design for different city's states and hoods.

You always hit the nail on the head. When you said, People always have an idea of what you should sell, BRO! Real talk when I chill with my own brother and have one of my shirts on he says, "I don't get it, I don't like it". I'm like, "That's cool, my shit is not for everyone". But then he starts saying what I need to make, "You should make logo tees, logos sell, yata yata yata"... Bro, please be quiet because I made a logo shirt and you didn't buy it. Shit, I made 4 of them and you didn't buy nothing till this damn day. People funny man, but it's all good. I love the hate, it pushes me harder. Thanks for this video!

Should you trademark every design you come up with? I have many ideas under one category audience and don’t know if that should be my domain or trademark it. Or just make a whole bunch of differ shirts on trend and season.
@BigBrandoh4 жыл бұрын
thats gona be totally up to you if you wanna trademark your designs. i personally cant tell you if thats gona be the best move. but understanding what trademarking is and does would be a good first step. learning about trademarking and if it would benefit you and your business. most people think, "im gona trademark this so nobody can take it" good frame of mind but unclear of the process. take Nike and Gucci for example. ever see fake nikes and gucci bags? even they cant stop people from recreating and pretending to be them. but on a smaller scale. lets say you TM your design, 8 months later it goes thru and you own that TM. now lets say 40 people across the country take your TM and stsrt selling it. how will you go after them? cuz just telling someone you own that TM aint stoppin anybody. will you be representing yourself in court against all 40 people? you will have to hire a legal team to help you fight for that TM. that costs as well. so figure out if TMing your designs is beneficial to your business and make sure you have a legal budget set aside to fight for that TM.

Hey bro , mad respect . When you were doing this idea did you make DBA ? Or did you do it after ? Starting up should I do the DBA first ?
@BigBrandoh5 жыл бұрын
i practice "Proof of concept" meaning before i put anything in to motion, i prove to myself that my idea is profitable. it would be a waste of time and money for you to register a dba on something you dont know will make you money. so before i do any legal paperwork i put my idea out into the market to see if it will be profitable then i make the decision on how to structure my business.

i dont know much about cbd shops but if you wanna do hats, i know theres alot of Embroidery shops in El Paso. start hitting them up when you got a design in mind and get quotes and use yelp to find the shops and read the reviews. going with a local embroidery shop is the best move anybody can make because you can physically walk in the shop and touch your proof sample before they run the whole job.

Thanks for this vid! So if I have a slogan that I plan to use for my T should I copyright that name? Did you copyright yours so no one else could use it? I think I mean trade name... 🤷🏽♀️ I don’t know what I mean 🥴🥴🤦🏽♀️
@devpac78615 жыл бұрын
Probably may be best to have a proof of concept b4 copyrighting.
@BigBrandoh5 жыл бұрын
hahahaa i cant tell you how to run or operate your business or what would be best for your business. But, the way i operate is using "proof of concept" meaning, prove to yourself that your idea is profitable before doing anything else. So i think of an idea, put it out into the market and see what happens aftwr that. because if you Trademarked something out the gate with out testing the waters you might end up wasting money. what if you TM your slogan but nobody buys that slogan. now you wasted money on the TM that you cant even profit off of and you wasted time processing that TM. also, if you Trademark something you need a budget to hire a legal team to fight for that TM. waving a piece of paper in front of somebody doesnt do anything, you have to legally fight for your TM. so you need to be able to pay attorneys to go after people infringing on your TM. get me?
@kimmied5465 жыл бұрын
Proof of concept.... okay gotcha!!! Thank you both.... and you’re right about testing the waters first.. great advice!! 👍🏽💖💖

press size only determines design size. you can press any size shirt you want on a 9x12. if your designs are bigger than 9x12, get a 15x15 but if your designs are smaller, save the money and buy a 9x12

At the beginning of the video, you mentioned making money with your boys. How selective are you about putting mfs on. Cause people a lot of times ain't gonna do right. You, people in general, can put everybody on.
