You have to commend technicians who offer thier skills openly.l to the public. Shame on the those who detract from this man's effort by throwing pot shots in the form of ridicule - which begs the question.. Why would those people who claim to be technicians need to watch if they know it all??

Your instructions are very clear and well paced. I had your video going on my phone while I worked on my tv and I felt that I had someone in the room with me helping me out. I almost wish I had another tv break so I can do it again.

Thanks for the power supply checkout portion of this video. I don't have an LED tester, but I DO have a DMM, so this is perfect. I've found many videos for LED strip replacements, but none show how to check out the pwr supply. I have the 50" version of this tv, with one segment not illuminating. The power supply checks out fine, so I now know that I need to replace the LED strips. Haters... ignore them. I'm an EE, with lots of bench experience. I didn't see anything wrong with your troubleshooting & repair process. Keep up the good work.

I got the TV for free from a relative because the picture was showing dark line then within a week half the screen black and then gone Zero picture. The diffuser board also got a few scorch marks on it as well!!! But never mind that, at the end of the day it's SORTED 👌 !!!!**FIXED**!!!! Thanks again man.👊💯🇬🇧

Bruh, you are a straight OG at this. I've looked far and wide for anything similar before I found your channel, and hey, don't let any of those haters get you wound bro. You're awesome at what you do, I learned a ton by watching you work and loved the commentary. I repair and upcycle electronics just to save them from the landfill and to help people, and you wouldn't believe how many TVs I've had donated to me since the local news in SLC ran a story on me. I'll give you 3 guesses on what the most common brand donated is. 😂 Now that I've found your channel and I'm stoked to be able to repair a lot of them quickly and efficiently, sell or give them away, and save people a lot of headaches and money. Thanks a ton for your work, you're a humble man but you have bragging rights for days. I've been an electrical engineer for 2 decades, and you know there's an enormous gap between the guys at NASA and the like, and those who actually take the time to reverse engineer, dissect, repair, and service electronics. In my experience, they're lost as hell at this kinda thing, and pretty terrible at it. Quick question for you my dude, do you have a good resource for finding replacement parts and/or service manuals? If you don't mind sharing, I'd appreciate it greatly. I have a UN75JU6500 v.TD01 that was donated. I have the same problem with it as this one, and am having a hard time finding the LED strips. I'm giving it away to a family next door that's living on a disability income, as a surprise. Again, phenomenal video, great pointers, solid work and a big help to many of us. Thank you 👊

I have a similar EU version of this TV, an UE55NU7102. It has smaller differences, but the disassembly and edgelight change is the same. Mine was in worse shape, it had like a dozen cracks on the diffusor, and bigger burn-ins. I screwed up and ruined the panel sadly. But I would not have even tried if it wasn't for your great tutorial. It went decently, despite i've never done it before. Thank you for your in-depth video, greetings from Hungary!

This video is outstanding! Thank you so much for creating such a thorough walk though of the LED replacement. The close ups provide exception detail. Unfortunately for me, I cracked the screen when installing the outer bezel. It was totally my fault. The screen was overlapping one of the edge guides just enough that it cracked when I applied pressure to snap the bezel in place. I can't stress this enough- double check to make sure the main screen is centered and within the bounds of the edge guides! Do not force it if the outer bezel is not going back on easily.

New to your channel. Thank you for your time explaining things, right down to what to expect from different pins as well as understanding the boards. I look forward to watching more of your existing and future videos. I don't think you'll be running out of work anytime soon, given the poor quality of these TV's. Mine just went after two years. Used the tape method to get it back running but seeing too much green, purple and pink on the left side of my UN58TU7000FXZC, so I'll be going at it again soon and experimenting some more. There is no way I'm buying another TV anytime soon after just two years with this junk. Come to think of it, their fridges are garbage too and their new phones not far from it. But the other choices are no better. Thank you very much for taking the time, this is much appreciated.

Simply great! Electronics, chess and other difficult things teaches us humbleness. I fixed 39 inch Samsung backlight by changing individual backlight. I learned from youtube, that by warming the strip under with hot air gun you can remove led quite easy. In my experiments 400 degree was quite good temperature. I have to say, that these repairs are more difficult in practice that you could imagine when you watch someone else doing these in youtube. So you have to be very humble, there is so many ways you can burn your pants. 😀😀😀

Great instructions, man. I actually felt confident I could try this after watching this video. I had the same exact problem as this TV and fixed it. Unfortunately I crunched some of the the COF films while moving the screen around on the table, so now I have a few vertical lines on my screen. Meh. One thing for viewers to note: when he plugs the tv in to test the lights at 57:12 it might not turn on if the TV was off when unplugged. That's how mine went.

Hello. You have forgotten the most important thing. Lower the current that powers the LED strips and thus achieve a longer life. For example: 350 mA to 320 mA: Remove both SMD resistors in the current sensor of the LED driver on the BN44-00932B board. Located on the back of the board under resistors R9101, R9201.

Hello. I am very thankful for your video. I was able to replace the LED strips. I fixed one thing but I think I messed something up. I will try to keep this short. I actually had to take it apart twice. The first time I turned it on and the remote worked but I didn’t have any sound so I took it apart and unhooked and hooked stuff back up. This time the remote doesn’t work and still no sound. I thought I would see if you could maybe tell me what you think happened. I have tested the remote by shining it at my phone camera. I don’t think it is the remote. Could I have messed up sensor thing? I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Samsung learned their lesson with that flawed design in later models as they put a plastic bracket (with holes for the leds) between the chassis bottom and the perspex defuser sheet to introduce an air gap to aid cooling in the hopes to avoid the burn out you see here. I've attempted to repair over 100 of these "edge lit" led tvs and only successfully managed less that ten due to this issue and the lack of spare perspex sheets. You'll always get the unit up and running but the burn marks will streak across the screen from bottom to top and will be very noticeable on every picture unless it's a night scene. My advice to anyone looking in - if you find these burns - save your coin and invest in a new TV - unless you can get that perspex sheet of course, otherwise bin that suckka!

Awesome video I've just repaired my exact same TV only difference I did was not lift the very back sheet out, I just slid it up and changed the LEDs, the white paper was stuck in the middle a little did get a belt off the LEDs tho, one connecter was stuck, next time I discharge the caps! Top tip put it on a blanket on the table and slide it around,

Excellent video, Thank You! Great level of detail. My backlight now works. Unfortunately the screen doesn't :(. I used a double unit suction cup and I think they were too close together. Would recommend two separate section cups (or even 4 with two people). I suspect the small bend on the screen when I pulled it out broke it. C'est la vie.

Is there some where you can purchase a new diffuser screen/plate? I haven’t opened my tv up yet but I suspect that may be the problem.

Hi BigDog, awesome job and video! love the rant in the middle 😂, totally agree with you. My wife took this TV home from work after it developed a darker section on the screen. I took it apart with your help and found several LED's out. Now waiting for replacement strips. We'll see if I can put it back together without breaking anything (already cracket the bezel taking that off... oh well). BTW I'm a big Bears fan and am looking forward to this upcoming season, let's hope the O-line will be and stay healthy and ball out! I hope you are doing well and take care. Thanks Again!

I’ve watched and I believe I’m now ready to give this a try before going and spending hundreds on a new TV. BigDog…I have this same model, seems a lot of these videos I’m finding on KZbin are for this model? Are you seeing the same? Seems if I do need a new model I should stay away from this one. Anyway, I had the right side of the set out for a while, but I know it was the backlight due to reading online about the problem. I was dealing with it for a few weeks, and then a couple nights ago the left side started going, there was still a bit of the picture on the left side in the middle you could see. I do believe that there will be a crack based on what I was seeing when it first started, but I can deal. Do you think it is just that one LED went out, and the the other started to? Or could it be something else? And do you recommend that we have one of those meters for this repair?

If your screen is already cracked then dont waste your time. Otherwise you need to replace both/all the strips.

I just replaced the backlights on my TV using this video and I have a suggestion. That glass panel thats behind the screen, the on thats cracked, if you flip it around the led lights refract the light though it better. The burn marks on the bottom and the crack causes the screen to be dark in spots. I'm going to take the TV back apart again tomorrow and see if flipping that cracked screen around will make any difference. I think it will help alot because the burn marks from the backlights going out before and the cracks are causing the screen to not light up all the way in some spots.
