We see FC the same way defensively. He’s basically scanning the space and options the opponent has and cuts off the ones he’s comfortable defending(example: passing lanes, anticipating opponent runs, etc). I play pro clubs and most people rush their attack so it’s easy to anticipate what they want to do. Getting good at this makes it easy to bait the opponent into mistakes because of a patient and nuanced approach defensively. Excellent video bro

The best defending tip i have heard so far in my Fc journey. Started playing Fc UT last year, but man my defending is horrible, because I always go for the ball. I believe defending spaces instead will help me improve a bit, besides that is when you said we are defending to prevent opponet from scoring, not to win the ball back. I never had these mind sets

I have to ask though, what tactics are you running these days? I remember you saying that you have been using the 3-5-2 with the attacking CB for years but now that you can't do that anymore(at least to the same level as in previous games) it makes me wonder what you are running. Cheers man Yeah, this year you can’t play the same. Main formation is a 4-2-3-1 that plays as a 3-4-2-1 when i have the ball. And then i’m just trying alot of different tactics. 2nd acc is playing a 4-3-3 (2) variation atm.

Not really, usually if you need to move fast sprint is better. Jockey shouldn’t really be used in large movements. Good players will outrun the speedjockey quickly

Nah, playing 4-2-3-1 on one acc and 4-1-2-1-2 on the other. They defend in those formations, but similar to last year, the attack in one is a 3-4-2-1 with the ball, and one plays like a 3-5-2 with the ball.

Let me not lie this update is quite bad in the sense that attackers were “improved” but they are now a bit clunky yes I can understand that people who like through balls enjoy the update and also defending I’ve always been a classy sheet Guy since fifa 18 and after this update it’s the tackling I’m complaining about sometimes my slide tackle and jockey dosent input at all 0 tackles are inconsistent and there are too many bounce backs especially in the box

Defending is horrific post patch. Contain gives the opponent so much space that they can easily dribble past your defence

Contain needs be used while still applying pressure/forcing decisions. You can't jockey to just cut off space. You cut it off, then you need to move towards your opponent.
