I’ve lived in the Piedmont of NC since I was born in 1968 and love camping. I have never camped at Uwharrie due to the stories I grew up hearing about Bigfoot and other strange encounters.

They're definitely are things in North Carolina. I experienced something ripping down ginormous trees on the Yadkin River one night. The first tree it pushed over must have been 200 yards or more away but it was big enough to wake me up it came down the river pushing trees over in my direction and as it got close to me things got quiet. I was on this giant ledge waiting for whatever it was to come up over the hill and bust it in the face with some birdshot. Things stayed quiet for about 20 minutes and then I heard trees crashing past me going away Downriver. I just can't imagine the mass of something that can push a tree down. It literally sounded like a silent bulldozer. I must have camped out 500 times in my life probably 150 of those times by myself. That's the only time I ever experienced anything but I sure enough experienced it!

Very well done. One of the best accounts for accurate reporting and keeping to the facts - qualifying any speculation - etc. IN Dec 1979, I and a girl friend were camping in a very remote area in East OK and at 2AM in 18 degree weather she heard the first vocalization and VERY quietly woke me up and quietly whispered right into my ear with GREAT dread: "Did you hear that?" I shook my head "No" - and about a minute later we heard it again. It wasn't a howl or a scream or a yell. It sounded mostly human but it wasn't human because the range and the length was not human. With my piano and choral background I placed the first and highest "note" in the 3rd octave above middle-C on a piano (notes that Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, etc. could hit) but this vocalizer wasn't straining AT ALL and the final and lowest note (in a downward cascading vocalization) was in the octave below middle-C - a four octave range by a human-like creature at 2AM in 18 degree weather with snow and ice on the ground and we hadn't seen a person for 2 hours before retiring. Most frightening was that I immediately interpreted it as not being an animal because it was showing intelligence and most noticeably "lament" and "tiredness". It was clearly expressing human emotion. There were no other campers/people anywhere. By far the most scared I ever was. Never went back. A few years ago I got to speak 1-on-1 with Harvey Pratt who was a Chief in Oklahoma and worked with David Paulides on sketching sightings by Indians in Oregon. I told him this story and he said that he knew "exactly" where we were camping and that area "had been a hot-bed of BF sightings and vocalizations for over 100 years." I was glad I didn't know that when we pitched the tent that night. :)

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve been a Bigfoot researcher for a long time, now living in the Raleigh area. I’ve exchanged thoughts with Ron Morehead and many other well known researchers, too. I’ve spent time sitting in the woods in the middle of the night with Igor Bourtsev and worked closely with Dmitri Bayanov before his passing a few years ago. I can tell you that pretty much anyone who has seriously pursued this subject reaches a point where the big hairy ape hypothesis no longer covers it. Dave Paulides, well known for investigating human disappearances, started out looking for BF too, and concludes that some poorly understood aspect of physical reality is responsible. Are you close to Pinehurst? I saw a Bigfoot down off the trail of Resevoir Lake. It's extremely swampy in there and dark, even when the sun is shining its dark in there. Just behind #9 tee at Talamore off of the hiking trail. I'll be happy to show you exactly where I saw this creature. Must have been 11 feet tall. Red glowing eyes, broad shoulders, must have weighed 1,500 lbs it was flicking huge.

27, February 2012 I died twice from a heart attack. I feel sorry for anyone that doesn’t believe that there is a God. I saw Jesus twice that night and He told me that it wasn’t my time yet and I had to come back to this Earth. This place is not our home. It’s only temporary. I had an encounter when I was 15 or 16 out hunting one evening. It had gotten dark as I was walking home through a field along side the edge of the woods. I was probably about 100ft from the wood line I heard a noise I immediately looked over and I saw red glowing eyes and as soon as whatever it was knew I knew it was there it sounded like something started tearing down the trees. I had a gun pointed toward it but was still scared to death. It seemed it was mad that i was there. The trees being torn down lasted about 10 seconds and suddenly stopped, I didn't see the eyes no more either. I stood still, finger on the trigger waiting for whatever it was to jump out running at me but nothing happened. After a few seconds I started to walk backwards all the way home which was about a half a mile through a wide open field. Like the man in the video said I still to this day wonder what I encountered. This happened in Kentucky I think in November between 2001-2003.

Bullshit! I grew up near Birkhead Mountain and have hunted,fished,camped Uwharrie since I was a kid. Solo camping near Narrows dam and have never heard or seen anything out of the ordinary. I'm 67 years old and live beside the Yadkin river and haven't seen anything here either. I live in the middle of the woods and hunt every year. If I see one I'll bring back proof in the form of a dead specimen.

By no means is this the first time I've heard people say that the orbs have faces. I've heard that several different times in eyewitness testimonials regarding orbs and bigfoot. It may not be super common, but it's definitely not unheard of. A lot of people don't get super close to the orbs, so maybe distance is a factor in being able to see the faces. Also, I don't know if there's any correlation, but I've also heard people who are into ghost hunting say that they sometimes see faces inside the ghost orbs that they capture on film. But yeah, I've definitely heard of people seeing faces in the orbs associated with Bigfoot. Also, I have been to the Uwharrie a few times now, Badin Lake specifically, and it never disappoints. The craziest thing that has happened to me there is when I was out walking along the road one night and something started throwing rocks down at me from up in the trees, and as I began to walk back to camp, I started being paralleled in the woods. Then something catches my eye from back in the woods a distance. It looked like a campfire. It was the same color as a campfire and it looked close, within 40 yards I'd say. I thought that was strange because our camp was the only one anywhere in the vicinity, not to mention the place was deserted. We hadn't seen another person all weekend. And this "fire" appeared to be in the middle of the woods, not where someone would build a fire. So anyway I'm staring at it and then this "fire" started rising up off the ground. And when it rose up to where it was clear of the bushes and foliage, I could see that it was NOT a campfire, but it was in fact two eyes, the color of a campfire! 🔥🔥 They started slowly coming my way and I was OUT. I was all by myself on a road in the middle of a deserted campground in the middle of the night with this thing coming toward me, so I beat feet back to camp where my Dad was and that was the end of that. That same night something came crashing through the woods up to my tent, which was right up against the wood line, It leaned over and cast a shadow over the top of my tent, leaned back, but I never heard it leave. I never went to sleep and yet I never heard this thing leave. But it was gone by daybreak when I finally came out of my tent. I've had a whole bunch of crazy experiences there, but that one was the scariest, and coolest, by far. There is some really weird stuff going on in the Uwharrie!!!

I love going to Uwharrie. My son does research and he got me interested. Two weeks ago I was hiking with my granddaughter and her dog on Little long mountain. Dog was spooked and my granddaugther heard large footsteps and smelled musk. Her hearing is much better than mine. Something was there if only briefly. The side of that mountain is dark even in the daytime. I thought maybe a deer but my granddaughter has hunted deer and knows what they sound like and she said it was definitely not a deer.

What a phenomenal story. I've experienced an orb the size of a beach ball that hovered around 20ft off the ground after other creepy phenomena in the woods of North Georgia 15 or so years ago, much like what he described but no faces. I didn't associate any of it with Bigfoot at the time, but looking back, that very well could've been what was near.

No glow/corona and described it as 'self-contained' light; like the light was swimming around inside the orb. What the orbs in this man's story (and others) have to do w/Bigfoot is beyond me.. You mentioned Biblical lens...if I HAD to guess - and I've gone over the Phoenix Lights UFO so many times - I'd have to say orbs and those attached to UFOs are djinn/interdimensional entities, but I'm not sure if they're benevolent or demonic.

I too have had an encounter twice with orbs, and once with something in the woods that had red glowing eyes. The story about the encounter with red glowing eyes is in this comment section. My first encounter of a orb was when I was a teenager me and a couple buddies were walking through a cemetery on the outskirts of a subdivision. We were walking inside the cemetery alongside the fence and I had turned around and noticed a white hazy orb the size of a basketball following behind us. My buddy had turned around a second after I did and he saw it too, we started to walk a little faster and the orb picked up it's pace too so we took off running and jumped the fence, we turned around after we jumped the fence and it stopped at the fence. I got the feeling that it was a angel protecting the dead and it was saying to us "all right boys it's time to go you shouldn't be here, now get gone". Or it was a ghost or possibly a spirit wondering what we was doing or it too might have been saying "alright boys go home this isn't a place you should be walking through". The weird part is I had family buried in that cemetery and have always wondered if it might have been a family members spirit. I might add we wasn't doing anything we shouldn't have been doing except walking through which I will also say we probably shouldn't have been walking through a cemetery at night just for fun because now that I'm older I'll admit it does seem disrespectful. My 2nd and last time I had an encounter with a orb, this time I know was a evil spirit I was 21 years old I was laying on the couch watching TV getting ready to fall asleep I heard a noise in the bedroom which was directly behind the wall the couch was up against I immediately dismissed it as something fell in the bedroom and soon forgot about it, about 2-3 minutes later I heard a noise in the kitchen and I raised up and looked and it was another orb, this time hazy black the size of a basketball and as soon as I saw it, it zoomed into the dining room toward the bedroom I had heard the noise the first time. I didn't quite know what I just saw so I thought I'm seeing things. Well, another couple minutes went by and I heard the noise in the kitchen again so I raised up again looked and it was that orb again, this time it just sit there in the air hovering starring straight at me for a few seconds and it zoomed back into the dining room. This time I knew I wasn't seeing things and I started saying to myself, "What in the hell was that" I set there for about 10-15 minutes wondering what I should do but after a few more minutes went by nothing happened so I laid back down and tried to fall asleep but after a few minutes I heard a noise again this time right next to me so I turned over and it was about three foot from my face. I immediately flew up ofc that couch didn't look back as I ran out the door to my truck which my keys stayed in my truck I drove down the road to my mom's house, they thought I was going crazy and didn't believe me. I told her I wasn't going back there I stayed all night at moms that night and the next morning about 10:00am I went back by myself to pack some of my clothes I opened the door took 2 steps in and suddenly it sounded like somebody was throwing stuff in the bedroom I ran out and never went back. My mom and some family members had to go pack my stuff because I wouldn't go back in there. It was definitely a evil spirit/demon. I am now saved and haven't had any kind of encounter since but those are my three encounters.

1982 Brasstown, North Carolina. Population less than 1,000. We had no neighbors for miles just a dirt road. I was 11 years old and what I seen changed my life forever. It changed my Grandpa and Grandma's life forever. Our world and what we knew about it had been flipped upside down. Until you can actually catch a glimpse of what we saw that day you can't truly grasp the reality of it all. I will tell you now. Darwin left a big chunk out of his theory. I live in Winston-Salem..I bet 1000.00 bucks that since 2018 I have hunted more days per week than any hunter in Uwharrie...I probably averaged 6 days a week or more...in the northern section Birkhead mountain wilderness area a man came out of nowhere and said I probably would see something strange in this area..I saw in cold weather a average size barefoot track in half frozen mud..its not likely a man would walk this far back barefoot in this area..it has countless number of rocks and crystal..his feet would have frozen...it's a very small national forest at 50k acres...around joe Moffitt area I found some very old archeology..I found small and very large burial mounds a couple made of dirt but the big ones are made of stone..these mountains claim to be the oldest in north America..I doubt it was a bigfoot..it was probably much more supernatural..there is a restaurant called Bigfoot on Sr 109 in Uwharrie...there's stone's out there that are big

MD I can not help in anyway with the supernatural aspect you experienced because I didnt experience anything like you did, but like I said I certainly dont discount anybody that has had an encounter like you did. If you are ever in the area you might want to check out South Mountain down near Cleveland County. I've hunted that area several times when I lived in Shelby and it was always an eerie place to hunt before I even knew that South Mtn had a history of strange happenings bigfoot related.

Those notes Monte Sr sketched are so good, i zoomed in and examined them carefully, and I've experienced some of the same things before. I wonder if the larger orb had more sunken eyes and a heavy brow ridge, but the description says Mayan, Aztec, Indian looking, so it's hard to tell if it was an actual bigfoot, or something else mimicking those faces, or some type of astral plane the bigfoots use to travel around our dimension, or just some type of aliens that are projecting these things. I've even thought that after praying that they know how scared you are and back off. That's my logical side of brain, the other side is completely spiritual, and that they were feeding on fear like demons, and praying ran them off, and that evil can manifest in any ways, so the bigfoots are the beasts of earth that has been casts out because they are nephilim, from demonic origins. I have experienced both the high technology mixed with spiritual type encounters, meaning blinking lights, and UFOs forming in groups at the same time getting surrounded by these things breaking sticks, glowing eyes, and throwing things. So im always flipping back and forth, but there's definitely a spiritual or evil to some because of the fear that they cause, and try to cause from you by messing with us.

Born in troy nc....lived in pine haven off Blaine rd most my life... Had to walk out of that forest many nights after taking beater trucks out after a case or two on a Saturday nite..i passed out on the forest road one night after way to much wild turkey....the stories i can tell about those nights...lol... Never had anything happen to us,wasnt looking for that though. I live in lexington now,and spend a good amount of time there riding sxs and hiking the trails with our rc trucks. I still have never had anything strange happen in the forest. What happened to me in 2008 was in the roy maness nature perserve.not that far from the forest and had been closed for 10 years when they opened it back up. I have talked to someone about what happened and he said these things probley moved onto the perserve after closing it,then there i am 11pm with a fire when nobody had been around for years. But.....still at this time after countless nights in the forest,i have yet to have anything strange happen....but when i camp in the primitive camp spots on the trails i use screw in wall hangers and thread 2lbs fishing line through them with cans tied to the end hanging by the tent....if anything over 7 foot comes in from the woods....i will know instanly...

I have been to Uwharrie many times camping, hunting & boating. The only thing that came into camp was a large bear in the middle of the night. Having said that, I have seen Blue eyes that self illuminate! And I mean glowing in the dark, on more than one occasion. But they were not in Uwharrie! I would like to talk to you about what you saw. And compare notes. I have not talked to anyone about this but family. I didn't know what I was seeing the first time.

I live in the general area of the Uwharries myself. It is an interesting place for sure. This man is very credible. The glowing blue eyes are a good sign. The creatures didn’t mean any harm. It’s the ones with red or yellow eyes that are cause for concern. Also- the Uwharries are known to be ancient Native American lands. There’s no telling what kind of supernatural things are going on there. I’ve been hunting and camping there lots of times and never seen anything out of the ordinary. But I’ve talked to people who have experiences all manner of weirdness, especially the Eldorado area.

Nope, just flesh and blood relic hominids. You can't use one mystery to explain another mystery. It's just ridiculous and there's no evidence for what you're saying besides a few outlying reports. Read any of the older books written by OG researchers like John Green, Grover krantz, Ivan sanderson etc. John Green personally interviewed and documented over 1600 witness sightings and not one of those witnesses reported anything supernatural or paranormal. Same with people like Grover krantz and Thomas steinberg. Don't you think that if these beings were mystical or had special abilities that they would have documented it from at least a few of the witnesses they spoke to? The supernatural bigfoot argument is actuslly a pretty recent narrative born in the last decade or so by armchair researchers to explain away the things they can't answer like why a body hasn't been found and why they never get photographed etc etc. What you guys don't get is that these things have perfectly logical explanations without resorting to these beings having powers or they are supernatural. A species that lives and thrives in the wilderness is going to be adept at camelflage and walking silently. They will know how to hide and disappear using past down behaviors from ancestors. These beings simply are very rare and since they are an apex species and highly intelligent, they will not die abrupt deaths. When they are sick or injured they will conceal themselves in brush or a cave or somewhere hidden until they die, just like large apex predators like bears, wolves, coyotes etc. You need to practice thinking critically and applying common sense.

In Birkhead while i was sitting in my tree lounge i saw a man at 150 yards walking in front of me back and forth..he wasn't dressed for the weather and he came from the wrong direction..and he was trying to hide himself behind several small trees in virtually the wide open...he reminded me of a mental person or just a straight up vision of something supernatural..he wasn't no hiker

Back in the 70's a friend at work said he saw one just north of highway 64 along Caraway Creek. It was not a highly populated area then. Since then it has become more populated, and they have apparently moved more southerly into Uwharrie National Forest. It was weird to me that someone would report one when they were not as well known.

The campsite at the 'big rocks' s. of 109 ,second week of Jan. ,2016 ? I had return knocks . Im estimating 250 yds. The coyotes were policing up the wounded deer, very happy campers. Definate wood knocks. 💯 👍

@@MysteriesUnknownpodcast We went up to Madison on a Friday to do maintenance.My good friend was left a little over 25 acres from his grandparents when they passed.We fell asleep around 2am Saturday.I woke to the sound of tree knocks or two sticks being struck together.His property is not far from part of the Appalachian trail.Never seen or heard anything but several knocks and,I believe that is what woke me around 8am that morning.When the sound woke me I had gotten up and picked up my 357magnum and went out and started the fire back up while listening to the knocks every few minutes around 7 or so totall then just stopped.Never seen anything no steps or anything leaving the area.It was really a cool experience but,kind of spooky.

Horses are huge animals. I saw one in real life once and it was larger than I ever imagined it could be. It wasn't evil though. Seemed at peace with itself, just grazing for grass in a field. I didn't take any chances however and kept my distance. Then got the heck out of there. It's been said some people have actually climbed up on these beasts and ride them like a motor cycle going really fast through the woods. Just be careful out there. Scary times for sure.

MD wow that was very unusual but creepy experience, when you are in a tent and all this is going on it had to be hard just staying put but thanks to your Dad for praying and having the Lord protect you. Like the host said this is a big Universe that God has created. It may not have been bad nor evil but I am sure it was very uncomfortable and scary. When you have no idea what it is, it has to be terrifying. I am glad it was handled the way you did and for you to stay put. Very strange but there is so much we don't know about, I hope you will remember what your father did if you have this kind of thing ever happens again. Yates Place is what started my interest in Bigfoot. I asked on a FB RVing page if anyone had used Yates Place for a quick overnight/halfway rest. I got a response from a woman who advised against it. First, she said it was loud until late with offroaders and ATVs. I told her we always sleep with a fan/white noise. Then, she said it wasn't a safe area because of dangerous locals. That sounded odd for the area to me, but I told her we carry protection. Then, she asked to private message me. In her message she shared what she didn't want to say on the group page. She and a few girlfriends were camping there. She said they were surrounded by what had to be Bigfoot creatures. She said they were throwing pebbles at them, breaking trees, whooping and sounded very "excited " It frightened them all so badly that they jumped in their vehicles and left their camping gear behind. She said she would never even consider camping there again, even with protection. I really thought she must be kidding. Maybe it was a great campsite and she wanted to keep it for herself? She was so sincere, though, that's what got me to start looking into the Bigfoot phenomenon. Yates Place 👣

Ive seen a bigfoot in north carolina ,seen signs of him and smaller one 2 years before we saw him ,i had gotten a glimpse of him months before on railroad track crossing at top of hill ,but kept going because of not to be late for work ,same colors he was ,and across from where he was lay a bunch of clean picked bones not broken up like if dog was chewing ,didnt think about that til we saw him ,topped the hill down at bottom he was leaned over drinking water in creek ,we started backing up to get back to woods ,but he walked into woods on next hill,never went back over there ,even though we walked it every day just about and hsd been in those woods so often

Glowing eyes is a biological impossibility because you would not be able to see through glowing eyes. If that is true, it would have to be supernatural. I've seen an orb in the woods. It was the size of a basketball, and it floated through the trees. It was a soft blue, but it cast no light on the trees. It almost felt like it knew I saw it. It exploded into multiple shiny fragments of slightly different colors and faded out of existence. It was very strange.

I know the campground that this fellow is talking about. have camped there many times and heard wood knocks but nothing else. I had a better experience at another rural privative camp site several miles to the west of there. Something large paced my campsite for over an hour one night stomping loudly and breaking limbs. Next morning, I found a path where it had pushed its way through some very think forest and it broke tree limbs as large as 3" in diameter off over 6'-0" high. Although I never saw it, it sounded like something on two feet.
