I was at that town hall meeting and met BoBo, Renee and Cliff. I think Matt might have been at the site that night. Anyway, I am very familiar with that location and the specific campsite and it can be very remote when there is nobody there and it is surrounded by allot of dense woods. There are houses on that road within say a mile or so from the campsite but it is remote. I had an experience there but I can't say it was Bigfoot, just something large moving in the treeline a short distance away. Had a better experience at another campsite to the west several years later. Neither of which did I see it. At the later, I found a pathway in the forest near the sounds the next morning and something of considerable size pushed through thick brush and broke limbs off above my head. As someone who in years past did allot of hiking in the Uwharries I will say that if a population of these things are there they would have to be very cautious as the area is full of hunters, hikers, outdoor enthusiast, etc. and I myself have encountered some pretty strange folks back way off in the woods on trails there. One such encounter was two hippy ladies, half dressed near an old mine who came and dug with us and gave us berries to eat. They were strait out of the 60's and I never could figure where they walked from as there were no other cars near the parking spot. Also had a run-in with a convicted felon one night camping out in that same campground. Around 2am in the morning, someone came up in my area and I pretended to have a gun on me, actually it was a toy water pistol that my son left in the car that I was shooting nats with. I told him I was armed and asked what he wanted. He said that he had gotten stuck on the road nearby and needed help. Being a kind person, I went up there and sure enough he was stuck. I got my vehicle and managed to pull him out. He thanked me and went on his way. Days later I was watching the news and saw this dude on TV he was caught in Virginia and was wanted for some pretty nasty stuff. I guess I was lucky. You never know who you might encounter in the woods. I always worried about people more than animals, except snakes. There really aren't any predatory animals in that area that pose a threat to people except snakes. There have been bear and big cat sightings there but they are extremely rare. I did have a large bobcat come up into my camp one night, he smelled the hotdogs cooking I think. He waited until I had doused the fire out and went into the tent to come up. I had tossed a couple of hotdogs near the treeline. He grabbed them and left. Nothing eventful. If he had been aggressive he wouldn't have waited for me to get in the tent. Now is there a Bigfoot in the Uwharries of NC? I don't think so, at least I would dare say that he isn't a permanent resident there. I think it is possible that he migrates through that area though possibly up the PeeDee/Yadkin river valley. This area of central NC is very populated with some major towns like Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, etc. but the creeks and major waterways would give cover to cross any roads and move west into the less populated areas of the highlands and Blue Ridge counties of NC. So to me, I think he is migratory.

I totally support Matt's decision to pursue whatever it was he filmed. There was a chance he could've captured better footage. Otherwise they are left with the footage they got and that was determined to be inconclusive.

Agree with Matts Decision. They are all arguing wether or not it's a person in a suit. First of all it was clear that it was moving away from Matt and seemed to already know there were people around. If you can't catch it then that is a pretty good indication that it was most likely not a person, If it was a person and he caught up to that person then atleast they would now know it was a person... Agree with some people in comments, It was a chance at more footage. I think either way it wasn't a win or loss but at least he tried.

I think animal planet originally had this clip up but I saw a comment on there at the time I think I need to share. Apparently it was a random guy but animal planet wanted to add drama to it. Matt wasn’t actually mad at the team but he actually got mad at the people telling him to take it and stuff and actually nearly ditched the show. Now whether that is true, I don’t know. I couldn’t find anything on the internet about it but it wouldn’t surprise me if it did happen.

I'm glad he ran after it frankly. Change it up. Obvious that tree knocking only proves something knocks back... no one caught bigfoot knocking on a tree on video... assumption. Could be another bigfooter. Eyeshine just proves light reflect off of eyes. No clear footage of what the eyes are attached to. Speculation because many animals has eyeshine. Hollering has never got a bigfoot come up and ask why they yelling. After years of doing this you would think an intelligent human would say... not working. No harm in changing things up. The team would've sung a different tune if he would've chased it in front of the other team and they got clear video of it up close. But, these shows is about entertainment not about actual scientific evidence gathering. How about getting dna out of tracks before pouring plaster in them and destroying the dna? We already know what a track looks like. Its the DNA thats non existent in the database. Hence , unknown primate results.

Matt's excitement got away with him. End of. Not following the established protocols and then getting upset when his team called him on it is a huge indicator of poor leadership. This was in one of the first seasons and it's just a sign of growing pains as a team. It would have been great if he wouldn't have been so defensive about it, but he never did it again, so lesson learned. They grew as a team from this point and that says a lot about the whole group.

Okay, regardless if Matt chasing after the potential Squatch was a good or bad decision can be debated. What he really screwed up in was communicating with the rest of the group. In other episodes when their on their night investigations, the two groups always radio each other before they make their move. Weather its making calls and knocks, or even deciding to move their current position somewhere else, even if its towards the Squatches. And considering he's the leader of the team (being the founder of the BFRO and all), he of all people should've known better.
