This was created from a M84 armored personnel carrier purchased at an auction in Colorado. Dad (Loren Puyear) actually bought two of them because hey, why not. The treads were removed, the carrier was cut in half and a portion removed (narrowed) and welded back together. This was done so the Ford Aerostar would fit on top. It had 2 - 460 CI Ford's with Ford TFS aluminum heads and 2 671 BDS blowers. The first transmission allowed it have a regular steering wheel, that was later changed. There were many "test drives" and car crushing done in our back acreage prior to selling this to Bob Chandler. Great memories.

I believe so yes. I was a teenage girl, not so interested in the "how it went together" - my guy friends hung out down there lots. I have his notes, photos, newspaper stuff. I liked the test drives. Dad had known Bob socially a bit. Dad had worked around monster trucks and the truck and tractor pulls for years. He built the weight transfer sled (sponsored by Coors) that they used at events all over Colorado and surrounding states. He also built one (a tank) for Full Metal Jacket although they I think they started this in Colorado perhaps they finished this? I don't remember much about this one. There were two more after Bigfoot.

I thought more about this last night. When he sold it - it had a steering wheel as he thought it would be easier for them to drive. I know they made modifications to the steering pretty quickly so it had two levers, similar to a zero turn lawn mower. As I recall the levers they had went straight up and down. I've never gone by to see it again. Mom and dad did several times. Bob even got them jackets with Fastrax and their names on them. Fun to think about - thanks!

Oh I used to love these things, that was when I thought of course heavier was better, the fasttrax, the only vehichle that the bigfoot team owned but did not build themselves, they took a apc and cut the top of it off and put a truck body on it man what a concept, and they could outperform some of the monstartrucks when they would fly in the air they would be fast accelerating into the lead saw it happed many times, once bearfoot even beat bigfoot in one years ago in the 1980's

To my knowledge, it's called "Thunderdrome". It was composed and performed by Mark Shreever. Much of his music was used on the "BIGFOOT Strikes Again" VHS.
