I just got the Hellcat Pro. After having carried other pistols- including the Glock 26 and Sig P365x, I find the slim design and longer grip of the hellcat pro perfect for concealability and accurate shooting.

I’d say price wise a great upgrade is the Talon Pro grips. $25 and if you don’t like them they aren’t permanent. After that trigger and optic. Now if you go with an optic make sure and ask any questions you have, I’m happy to help. Best place is Optics Planet though they give my viewers a discount when they use my 360TS discount code. Same thing for the Apex trigger, same code. How are you liking the gun so far?

ive fired like 3,000 rounds through my Hellcat pro , and not a single malfunction has occurred. However, I'm torn between the P365 with a Wilson Combat xl grip and the P365 with the Macro grip. I believe they offer a smoother shooting experience compared to the Hellcat Pro. I'm more accurate with them, but I do trust the Hellcat Pro more. I also own the regular Hellcat, and I prefer the P365 with the Wilson Combat XL grip. One thing to mention is that the screws on the Hellcat and the Hellcat Pro, used for holding the optic, seem better and more robust. I trust them more because I've had some issues with the screws on my P365. If Springfield were to make the Hellcat modular like the Sig P365 and the Echelon, I think it would be a home run, in my opinion. I also don't think the Hellcat Pro is as snappy as people on the internet say it is. I find it controllable, especially since it's chambered in 9mm. However, I understand that controlling recoil can be challenging for some individuals. Ultimately, it all comes down to what works best for you. One thing I don't like about the trigger guard is that it's super uncomfortable for me. It rubs against my knuckles when I shoot it. Now, for concealed carry, and hopefully never having to use it for self-defense (I really hope so), I don't think it's a problem. If I do have to use it, I don't think the trigger guard will be an issue. However, going to the range with this gun and shooting a couple of hundred rounds is not that comfortable for me
@360TacticalSolutions
@360TacticalSolutions Жыл бұрын
Probably one of the best comments ive seen in a long time and I agree all around. I tested both the Macro and the HCP and only found the Macro to be slightly smoother for me. The grip for the HCP was more comfortable in my hand which I believe is why my experience was what it was. I then balanced the recoil difference between the two guns vs the price...and the HCP was the clear winner in my eye. Everything boils down to individual use and preference. I always want people to live fire before buying a gun. You wouldn't believe some of the conversations ive had with other creators and the dirty stuff that goes on behind the scenes. Watch a dozen reviews but don't take them too seriously. Use them as a what to look out for when you test the gun for yourself. The Echelon review will be up sometime in the next two weeks if I can get it edited. I was thinking the same thing. I expect Springfield to launch a HCP 2.0 or whatever in the next year or so. Modular platforms are going to be the big thing. Id like to see a modular HCP with a similar optic mount like the Echelon. Hopefully without the same mag catch mechanism as the Echelon because I don't think thats going to last long term.

I enjoy everything bout the Hellcat Pro except how it shoots. It’s seems to beat up my hand after about 50 rounds and it’s not as accurate as my other subcompact firearms. I’ll add Talon grips soon so hopefully that helps a bit. I also may change the trigger because I just don’t like it.. Other than that, it’s easy to conceal, great ergonomics, 15 rounds with the OEM mags (just can’t beat that) and is very well made.. The biggest thing for me is that it has NOT malfunctioned once!! Reliability is huge for me and I’ve found the Hellcat Pro to be very reliable. It hasn’t replaced my 43x as my EDC because I personally think the 43x is better besides capacity but I do carry it about 2 times a week.. That being said, the Hellcat Pro is an excellent option for EDC and home defense..

Just got back from the range yesterday where my friend brought his new optic-ready Hellcat 4" ("OSP" I think its called), and I brought my EDC stock Shield Plus Performance Center 3" (with an Armalaser grip-activated "laserguard"). The stock Hellcat trigger is not ready for prime time IMO. I am not a good shot by any means, but even at rapid fire I shot tighter groups at 20 ft and 30 ft than the Hellcat (by either of us shooting it); both with and without using my laser. And God bless my buddy, but when shooting his Hellcat for the first time yesterday, he couldn't get a group within 5 inches with it's stock Ironsights (u-notch and nightsight) and mush-tastic trigger. Admittedly my grip-activated laser,

I think one thing to throw into this comment as a reminder is that you are shooting your own gun against a gun you arent at all familiar with. Obviously im going to shoot my gun that ive ran mag after mag through better than I would one that I just picked up today and took to the range. The Shield Plus PC has a chance at greatness but there are downfalls. Every one of them should be optic ready like the HCP. You shouldn’t have to buy a specific model, just make them all optic ready and if someone wants to use a dot they can, if not thats cool too but the option should always be there. The next thing is the lack of accessory rail. You may not use a light on your gun but just like the optic, the option should be there. Next is the grip. This gun should come with 15rd mags that are flush fit. There’s no reason to have the short grip. It doesnt aid in concealment. The guns thickness makes more of a difference than the grip length and if my pinkie grips on to the mag in order to hold the gun thats a problem with mag changes. There’s just no logical reason for it. The wasted potential with the Shield Plus PC is sad. S&W could really do so much more with that gun

I COMPLETELY agree with you. ALL guns should be optic ready and 15 rounds. My minimum is 12 rounds though. I purchased 2 of the 17 round magazines as soon as they came out. I bought them for the house and to use at the range mostly, but even with them inserted the gun still conceals well. I've been on the fence about getting the gas pedal because of holster fit, but i think that the holster i have now may work with it. It's the Druid from rounded concealment and it has a wedge built into the kydex holster. It comes with a wing to help with concealment and is ambidextrous.

@360TacticalSolutions I love these hellcat pro videos. I thank you for all the information you have given on this topic and that’s the reason why I’m going to go ahead and get a port job with Floyd’s. The lack of counterbore and 12-14 week lead time with Monsoon’s Hel Port, is also what swayed my decision. Having shoulder surgery last September 2023, it has really affected my grip and has left my right hand, arm, and shoulder really weak. I was able to mitigate and control the recoil of the tiny hellcat micro before, but that’s not the case anymore since after the surgery. I did have some questions for you before I pull the trigger. For the Hellcat micro OSP would you recommend the commander port or the enforcer port and why? IYHO, is it even worth getting the DPM recoil reduction system for the hellcat micro or would getting Floyd’s port job be enough for at least a 30% reduction in recoil? In regard to the gogun gas pedal, do you find that it has helped you with your grip and recoil control? Would it help me since my grip on my right hand is much weaker and is my dominant hand? Thanks in advance and looking forward to hearing back from you.
@360TacticalSolutions
@360TacticalSolutions 7 ай бұрын
First, let me just say thank you for watching and trusting my judgement, opinion and honesty in my content. I’ve mentioned several times in content that Ive battled with carpel tunnel for a long time. It’s not bad enough for surgery but I get flare ups that can render my hands useless for weeks to months at a time. So when it comes to mitigation of recoil to help get around physical limitations or aggravations I really understand the need for finding those work arounds. Lets see if I can run though those answers without getting too off topic lol. As far as porting goes the two port styles seem very similar as far as how much control over the gun im getting, how much of a decrease in felt recoil im getting. I still need to go do the actual measurements with the two. I dont want to just throw an opinion out based on “feel”. I use the MantisX to measure recoil that way I have actual data for the comparison instead of an arbitrary feeling. From what I can feel at this point though they do seem neck and neck. Some people would say the Enforcer has the advantage because the sights dont get moved but I think thats personal preference. I rely on my dot and worry very little about backup sights but thats me, having the sight moved back doesnt matter to me. Personally it’s going to boil down to the recoil comparison and the velocity testing that im getting ready to perform. I want to know what the stock HCP does with velocity vs the Commander vs the Enforcer. Im leaning toward Enforcer because I suspect it will retain a slightly higher velocity due to its port design. When I come back full time making content next month that will be one of the first couple videos I do. The DPM spring is one that at this point I think its not enough actual reduction to justify its cost. Ive done so much testing on these guns and the more I shoot the more I think the DPM spring is more about adjusting for people who have issues with muzzle dip or other reactionary issues to recoil. In the end you are throwing a considerable amount of money at the gun to get minimal change in performance. If I put a number on it I would realistically call it 5% reduction or less. The gas pedal is a reasonably cost upgrade that really does help me with control over the gun. Ive always found my support thumb has a tendency to slip and slide while im shooting and then I have to adjust my grip. It’s a telltale sign my grip needs improvement. The gas pedal really did help but with two points to mention. First is holsters. You have to be ready to buy a different holster or modify the one you have with a heat gun and potentially mess it up. Second…I hate the texture on the gas pedal. It’s not at all “grippy” so I find the same issue where my thumb wants to slide off while shooting. I bought a $5 roll of grip tape on Amazon and pressed a piece on the gas pedal then trimmed the edges with a razor blade. This made a HUGE difference to how it changes my grip and overall shooting experience. I would give this advice to you. Your grip is everything and in your situation anything you can do to increase your grip while also mitigating recoil is a great thing. Start off by ordering the Talon Pro grip. It’s like $25, easy to put on and if you dont like it you can peel it off pretty easy. I find my hands stick to the gun better with the Talon grips but specifically the Pro ones. They arent going to irritate your skin while carrying but will still increase your grip. Next, porting is a must if you want to decrease recoil…maybe wait till my video testing the two and conclusion comes out. Also consider adding the Floyds magwell. Yes you will need their mag bases because the stock ones wont fit. Video is being made for that product right now. I dont find any issues concealing with the magwell but what I do find is that I get more leverage with my lower grip. My pinkie’s are able to pull the grip into my hand more securely which gives a mechanical advantage over the guns recoil. This is why I put magwells on nearly all my guns. Its cool that mag changes are easier but for me the grip is why I do it. So…talon pro grip, magwell, port job and maybe a gas pedal and some grip tape for the gas pedal. Skip the DPM spring and invest that $150 or whatever they are charging these days into other areas of the gun that will bring more of a payoff in terms of recoil mitigation. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Remember my discount code for Apex, Optics Planet, KORE belts, C&H Precision is 360TS…Floyd’s its 360TS10 but I think im going to ask them to change it so its the same as everything else. May as well save some money where you can on the build lol

@@360TacticalSolutions thank you so much for the quick reply back. I’ve actually reached out to Floyd’s and they recommended the enforcer ports, but didn’t give me a reason why. I know that the HCP and the HC micro have only a 0.7” difference in barrel length, so that may be the reasoning behind Floyd’s recommending the enforcer port vs the commander port on the shorter HC micro. I currently have a arc reactor 48 slide on my Glock 48 with something similar to the Hel Port/chunk port that Monsoon does and it’s a night and day difference between the arc reactor 48 ported slide/barrel vs the OEM Glock 48 slide/barrel. I definitely feel the mitigation of recoil and have much better control and return to zero with the 507k red dot I have on it. I was thinking that the commander port might do something similar for the Hellcat micro, but I’ve searched and searched and have found no videos or any additional reviews comparing both port jobs by Floyd’s. I may wait for your comparison video before pulling the trigger and getting the port job done. I don’t expect the variance of recoil control to be much different between the two port jobs, but if one is even 5%-10% better than the other once you complete your test, then that will help me make my final decision. Thank you again for answering my questions and looking forward to that comparison video.

@@aceyboogie7172 I chat with them regularly, I’d say every other week we throw each other a message back and fourth. So I have a lot of insight into things over there. In fact I pushed them to start doing work on the Hellcat Pro which has lead to where we are now lol. I believe the reason they are recommending the Enforcer is their testing has shown it to feel like a softer shooting gun overall vs the Commander. Just judging by feel I almost couldnt tell the difference personally. So to me it’s going to boil down to which one loses the least velocity. I dont think their advice is just based on the shorter version Hellcat, thats their standard advice for both versions and I wouldnt be surprised if they discontinue the Commander at some point. Really Im going to gather more data and give it to them to help them decided if it’s worth doing two versions or not. The ports on the Enforcer are positioned roughly at 10 and 2 o’clock, more like 9:30 and 2:30 but because of their position you get gasses escaping in such a way it combats muzzle rise as well as felt recoil from that backward motion or “kick”. Because theres no top side port the gas has more pressure being forced out of the side ports making them work just as well (as far as I can tell so far) as a top port…except possibly without losing as much velocity. Im really looking forward to getting out next week and running those tests and seeing what I come up with. It could definitely be worth it to wait just a little longer to send the slide in just in case. Im the kind of person whos all about provable data vs subjective feel so Ive been really careful not to side one way or the other till the numbers are in lol

Question, I see that you went with TRL-7A... did you have to get a different key to fit the light on the railing properly? or Did it fit that way perfectly without any issues? I know that with TRL-sub you have to request #5 key for it to fit properly.

@360TacticalSolutions 3 күн бұрын
Great question, thanks for asking. I have a 7Sub, 7A and a 7X. The sub is a better fit for guns like my M&P2.0 and to be honest it’s a poor choice for the HCP because of the confusion over the keys and then holsters…is it the 7Sub 1913 or the 7Sub HCP model because most holsters have different models for each because the lights fit differently. It’s stupid but people keep buying them. The 7A/7X on the other hand is a direct fit butted right up to the trigger guard while using the included Universal key that’s installed on the light. lol super easy, open the package and mount the light then find a holster for the 7A and you are set. No complications as all and it’s no bigger than the sub, just a slightly different shape. 100% go with the 7A/7X and if you want a discount get it at Optics Planet where you can use my 360TS promo code 👍🏻

Im sure it is. QC on those plates isnt great and thats the point…buying them is a gamble. Your plate “working fine for a year now” though, that doesnt give much info. I could mount a plate and optic on a gun and leave it in the safe for 6 months and say it works fine. What conditions was it in, how much carry time, whats the environment and weather, whats the round count on the gun. These are all factors when it comes to how well a mounting plate does. I have a friend that swears by steel case ammo. The guy wont buy anything else because “steel case has never failed him”. When you start asking the right questions though you start to realize that it might be a better idea to go with a more trusted and time tested option

Mmmmnn….43x is one of my least favorite choices. No rail for a weapon light, it’s thicker than the HCP, has a shorter barrel and comes with 10rd mags I believe. Yes you can get aftermarket mags but we are talking out of the box. It’s weird that the MOS version has a rail for a light but the standard one doesn’t. I like that the HCP has two version, one with and one without threaded barrel and both of them have a ton of things included like all of them being optic ready. Now one thing I will say is everyone is different in what feels right in their hand, what fun they are more accurate with. That’s important because you should never buy before you try lol. Sure the HCP beats everything on the market on paper but it’s going to boil down to what works in your hand

I feel the same about the Hellcat.. I like it a lot but maybe changing the trigger will make me love it. On paper it beats all of the micro/compact guns imo. I have both but I edc the 43x mos because it shoots better. The only thing it lacks is capacity which is very understandable. Although the grip texture is better on the Hellcat, I think the shape of the grip is better for me with the 43x mos and it shoots softer.

I thought I replied to this last night but I must not have hit the enter button. I hear the PDP is a bit snappy with its recoil but again I haven’t put more than two mags through one another guy offered me to shoot at the range. Why do you say you have to buy a Walther for your first? My honest opinion is you should find a range with a rental program and rent a few different guns to live fire test before picking one. Everyone is different and what really matters is that you are comfortable with it in your hand and that you can fire it at an acceptable level of accuracy. A lot of people love Glocks but I can’t shoot them worth a damn. It has to do with my grip. So if I just bought a Glock because people told me they were amazing I’d then have a gun that does me no good when I need it lol. Just a thought. But also Walther isn’t a bad starting place either

Ive found my muscle memory at standard self defense ranges is more than ok to eliminate a threat. This type of training is more valuable than any amount of co-witness in my opinion

What are your thoughts on the Glock 43x compared to the Hellcat Pro? For those who live in a 10 round state.
@360TacticalSolutions
@360TacticalSolutions 9 күн бұрын
A lot of people like it...I'm not one of them. At the end of the day I think everyone should live fire before buying any gun and my advice is only to give some perspective that you and others may not have thought of while making a choice for themself. That being said, the shorter 3.4" barrel definitely has a bit more recoil which is never a positive. The gun also has no accessory rail and being optic ready isn't a standard. For a lot of people these things may not matter. Maybe you don't like using an optic or a light. Nothing wrong with that. At the same time the Glock could have come in at 3.7" with a rail and optic cut and been a gun that fills everyones needs instead of just people that don't use a dot and don't carry a light. On a personal note ive never liked the way Glocks feel in my hand so I stick to judging them by specs so I'm not being too bias

@360TacticalSolutions
@360TacticalSolutions 10 ай бұрын
It can be tricky if it’s your first gun with a red dot. You want to keep both eyes open and focused on your target. Don’t adjust your head or eyes to find the dot…bring the gun up into your field of vision in front of your eye. Thats the part people really struggle with, they want to move their head to find the dot vs moving the gun to align with their eye. A good way to get that figured out is dry fire practice. Using a red dot is a matter of building solid muscle memory to a point that you draw your weapon and you just go to that spot where your dot is in front of your eye. Be safe about it. Don’t keep any ammo in the room. Put a post it note on a wall, draw, line up the dot and fire. Maybe order some cheap snap caps from amazon, training rounds. It’s better to use those, less wear and tear on the gun vs standard dry fire. The more you dry fire the faster you will get lining up the dot because you will build the muscle memory. This will save you a lot of money vs just doing live fire practice and beating that learning curve. A lot of people get discouraged because it takes work to get red dots figured out. Also people get the perception the dot is moving all over like crazy but it really isnt. The red dot just exaggerates your barrel movement and you notice it more. I think I’ll try and work out a “how to” video for new users of red dots. Basically dry fire every day. Take 20min every night or whatever works best and practice the dry fire. It could take a little bit to really get it but it will happen if you work at it. Just keep your head locked, vision focused on the threat and bring the dot to your eye

How do you like that gas pedal
@360TacticalSolutions
@360TacticalSolutions 4 ай бұрын
I do like it. Some people have complained there is some issues with clearance between the gas pedal and optic. I dont have this issue because Im using an adapter plate on this gun so it sits just a bit higher. If you are interested in installing this gas pedal, I would reccomend filling off a little material from the back of the gas pedal to give a little room for the optic during takedown.

Between the hellcat and the hellcat pro, which one would be your preference?
@360TacticalSolutions
@360TacticalSolutions 7 ай бұрын
My honest opinion...the Hellcat is one of the worst guns ive ever shot. I even like it less than the S&W Shield. The shorter barreled guns are less accurate and kick like a pissed off mule. It doesn't help that the grip length is shortened so you have less control over the gun. They shorten the grip and barrel to make them better for concealment but in my experience this doesn't really do as much as you would think. The Hellcat and Hellcat Pro seem to carry very similarly and so the drawbacks on the Hellcat far outweigh any advantages to having a smaller version of the gun. HCP all the way

Are you still happy with that C&H optic plate? I have to get an optic for mine and am caught up in between getting the slide milled or just getting a plate. I guess i mean, if you could go back and do it again, would you go with the plate or get it milled since you already customized the slide with the port job?
@360TacticalSolutions
@360TacticalSolutions Жыл бұрын
Thats a great question. First…of course im an affiliate for C&H so if someone does buy something through my links from them I make a couple bucks. That being said I always prefer a direct mount if at all possible. The system on the HCP has 4 “posts” where the optic goes. When modifying it for a Holosun you have to grind off the two rear ones and then the two front ones need taken down just a little but. They are a little too tall. That was something that we found out after my slide was milled and I had them grind the rear posts but I didnt think about the height of the front ones…my my optic sits high in the front which made me say ok well Im going back to the plate. Another thing is those posts are quite a bit smaller diameter than the holes on the Holosun. They dont make a lot of contact so they arent really doing the job of stabilizing and absorbing recoil like they are supposed to. My second slide is headed to Floyds now and im going to have them cut the posts for the Holosun just so it’s done. More to the question though…would I do it again as far as the plate or doing the slide cut. I wouldnt ship the gun in to have the slide modified for the Holosun unless I was doing more. Like if I was sending the slide in to be ported (which im doing right now) then I would add on the optic cut, but I wouldnt send it in just for that optic cut. If I just had the gun and strictly wanted to adapt it to use a Holosun I would go with the plate for sure. That way there is no modification done and If I trade it or sell it later on it retains more value because its stock.

@360TacticalSolutions
@360TacticalSolutions 3 ай бұрын
If you want to modify it yourself you are going to want to use flat files…not a dremmel. Take the rear lugs down flush like they were never there. The front lugs need a little material taken off. Using a dremmel you risk taking too much material off. Take a couple passes with a file and then sit the optic on the slide and screw it down. You can shine a flashlight from the opposite side and if theres daylight in front then you need to take a little more off. Mine was unstable because the front lugs needed shaved down

@@galnadjar honestly even with the plate I can judge well enough that I can place my shots where I need them. The plate is just a little thinner than a credit card lol. Keep in mind I have two of these guns. One uses a plate and the other has the slide modified for direct mount. Even with it modified you don’t get what most people would expect for a cowitness because of the optic body thickness. People don’t like to hear it but cowitness is bullshit. I actually have a video dedicated to that but really here’s my position: get an optic you trust and run with it, don’t even pay attention to irons. When you go shooting remove the battery for the optic and run a couple mags through it using the optic body and window as your reference point. Essentially training yourself to point shoot with the optic as a reference. This is faster than irons and it’s why a lot of guys make a center mark at the top of their window with a paint pen.

I have multiple videos on this if you want to go back into my Hellcat Pro playlist and really deep dive into specifics. I cant really discuss numbers without YT bots flagging me for “firearm sales”. I think I mentioned in this video as well as left a link and promo code for Floyds Custom Shop who did the work on my HCP. Ive had multiple sources send me in complaints about work done through some of the other companies that I wont mention just because I havent had work done through them personally. As far as the port design, volume isnt going to be a measurable difference by removing the side ports. Either way porting is loud. The excess sound is a non issue when compared to the benefit in a life or death situation. Basically if you use it…your ear drums arent going to be happy ported or not ported but saving a life is what matters. In terms of side ports, you will have to go watch some of the other content but they arent located at 9 and 3 o’clock like it seems. The ports are cut somewhat a backward angle and positioned more at 10 and 2. Top port helps relieve muzzle rise while the “side” ports work against felt recoil or rearward kick depending on what terminology you prefer. The port sizing, design and locations have been carefully designed to give you the best recoil management while still retaining a respectable velocity. Im in the process of doing some velocity testing that will give more information on the subject but thats going to take a bit of time. Hope that helps but I definitely recommend checking my HCP playlist. You wont find more information out there than ive put together

That’s very disappointing. I’m closing in on 10k rounds with one of my HCP and 5k with the other one and never experienced a real failure. Being that it’s your first gun I would look less at the problem being the pistol and more at the problem being your grip. Pretty much all firearms will jam on you if you use what’s called a “limp wrist grip”. The HCP can have fair recoil and if you don’t have a solid and efficient grip it certainly can have an issue like any other gun. Have you taken any classes at a local range? It could be beneficial to do some heavy research into grip and go from there

Yes the HCP is optic ready but the footprint doesn't match the Holosun 407K. The slide has 4 recoil posts so the adapter plate blocks 2 of them and creates two for the front of the Holosun. People always ask if I can cowitness while using this set up. I can see my iron sights enough that in an emergency I'll be able to take care of business. The plate really doesn't raise up the optic much at all and if you have the right screws, the right thread locker and you torque to spec then it shouldn't be an issue

@@mustafamalik5155 I haven't had any parts wear out or break. Most people would be hard pressed to fire 10k rounds through a pistol over the time they own it. For a lot of owners 2000 rounds is "heavy use". I wouldn't expect to hit a point I need to start replacing parts that are wore out till 15-20k rounds. Sure you may have a random time in there where the oddball thing happens and you need to replace something but that isn't going to be a regular thing. I think the point im getting to is 90% of people will never shoot a gun enough to get to a point parts start wearing out and if they do it will take so long that something better will be on the market so at that point upgrading into something more up to date may be the way to go. These guns today aren't meant to last 100 years of regular use. Pretty much anything on the market right now you can buy and get the next 10-20 years of use out of it without worrying to much about it breaking down unless you are an extremely heavy user.
