I love all the things with the onceler that the other comments have said, but something I especially love is how the Lorax is portrayed here. He knows there’s nothing he can do but talk. He’s not some all powerful guardian, he can’t send the fury of the forest after the onceler and send him packing. But he still *tries.* You can see it from the look of his eyes and how he moves in his speech, he is doing EVERYTHING he can to protect his home, the forest he exists to be the guardian of. He’s trying his absolute best to get through to the man he once viewed as someone he could possibly call a friend. His efforts aren’t just to save the forest, they’re to save a man from being consumed by his pride and greed. And yet, it’s not enough. But even after that, the Lorax tries. He evacuates as many animals as he can, even stands against him still in the face of his monstrous machines, unnatural heaps of metal that the Lorax could never hope to stop. And yet he still tries to save what he can, what little is left. And while he fails, it’s an amazing effort made by someone who could do nothing but talk. He’s lost, yes, but he saved every little thing he could. And yet at the end, when the onceler’s greed has caught up to him and he’s lost near everything he could use to keep his business going, the Lorax is still there. Not to say “I told you so”, but from the way he’s standing, because he feels sorry for the man. The man he once called a possible friend, who fell into a pit of greed, and didn’t even attempt to climb out of it, despite his best efforts to urge him to. But still, he’s there after all that. Just find it interesting how perfectly he’s portrayed here.

🔥 Yo te respondo esa pregunta: Si ves los storyboards oficiales del Lorax y comentarios de los creadores, ellos tenían una idea más compleja y madura para desarrollar la película. Y se notaba que sabían lo que hacían con solo echar un vistazo al arte oficial. Lo que pasó fue que los ejecutivos de Illumination les prohibieron y censuraron muchísimas cosas, y el resultado fue lo que obtuvimos. Toda una pena.

I like that in your version we often don't see the Once-ler's face. In the original the Once-ler wasn't meant to be a person - he was meant to be a presentation of every person. We all could become a Once-ler, it wasn't a fault found in just one young man. It is a fault in humans pride over our ability to dominate our surrondings.

I always re visit this animatic from time to time and ive really come to appreciate how well everything is drawn and planned. Its very beautiful and you make a good plan of what the song could've been. I especially love the detail how everyone is wearing green gloves to show the once-lers influence has grown an then it all circles around in the end and it shows a tidal wave of green gloves coming after the lorax and it really shows the power a strong influence can have over people and its empowering. I very much enjoy this animatic and I am still glad you made this MASTERPIECE of an animatic and I hope this gets even MORE attention that it truely deserves.

Me gustó mucho el animatic Sin temor a equivocarme puedo decir que es uno de los mejores (top 3 mínimo en todo yt a mi parecer) (EDIT: me rectifico, este es el mejor dibujado que se haya hecho) animatics/storyboards sobre biggering. Que aclaren que esto es un proyecto escolar me asombra aún más pues siendo tan jóvenes los creadores es increíble el talento que manejan. Sin embargo, el animatic no está exento de errores. Mi intención no es criticar por criticar, sino dar una crítica constructiva que les pueda ayudar, porque siento que tienen mucho potencial por la calidad del material que hicieron. Comenzaré con lo bueno. Este animatic es el mejor dibujado que haya visto (especialmente porque no maneja el estilo de un storyboard), las proporciones de los personajes son perfectas y el coloreado de ellos es un deleite. En resumen, el aspecto artístico, osea, el dibujado (proporciones y rasgos) y el coloreado son magistrales. Me encantó el inicio de la canción, su animación le calza perfectamente. Otra escena perfecta es la transición entre el segundo (canta el lorax) al tercer acto (en q vuelve a cantar el onceler) en que hay un solo de guitarra. Se me hizo muy creativo que graficaran de esa forma cómo el crecimiento del onceler afecta a la naturaleza. Por último, no puedo irme sin alabar la expresividad que imprimieron a los personajes, adoro la furia que muestran los ojos del lorax en su último verso de la canción. Es maravilloso. Ahora sí, los puntos malos, que son pocos. Siento que narrativamente no hay mucho movimiento. El comienzo está bien, pero faltan elementos dramáticos que enriquezcan la historia. Por ejemplo, el onceler no se muestra ni un poco arrepentido o dubitativo sobre su accionar en ningún momento sino hasta el final de la canción. También, sobre el tercer acto, el onceler se ve muy solo,cuando justamente el coro que se oye en el fondo es el pueblo de thneedville que lo llena de laureles como si él fuera un salvador o algo parecido. El segundo acto carece de movimiento, pues sólo se ven cambios de cámara ya que no se sale del ascensor y siento que aquí no se aprovecha la riqueza narrativa de las palabras del lorax y se limita a mostrar un discurso del lorax y no la imaginación culposa del onceler ni otra demostración visual de lo que dice el lorax. Pero bueno, con todo lo bueno y lo malo este sigue siendo uno de los mejores trabajos audiovisuales de esta canción que haya visto (y créanme, he visto muchos). Espero que este trabajo les haya traído una buena calificación. Y, porfavor, no se tomen a mal mi opinión, solo deseo que mejoren porque ustedes son muy jóvenes y tienen un gran talento. After listening to this song multiple times, I'm pretty sure I can see why Illumination nixed it from the movie. There is not one mention of "Trees", or anything about nature except for comparing the Oncler's company to an animal and the Survival of the Fittest line. Biggering states that the Oncler's actions which are evil are him biggering his company with the intention to trigger more biggering. This is what every mainstream and successful company's mindset is. To keep biggering and biggering, to become "Too big to fail". Why would Illumination want to say that in a movie though? They want to bigger their company, but they just told people that biggering and biggering is bad. So they replaced biggering with a new song that said the Oncler was evil because he didn't care about the enviroment
