Biggest AI announcements from Apple's WWDC 2024

Apple announced “Apple Intelligence” at WWDC 2024, its name for a new suite of AI features for the iPhone, Mac, and more. The new AI features will be able to do things for you in apps like manage your notifications, automatically write things for you, or summarize text in mail and other apps. We also got a look at “Genmoji,” a new feature that will generate emoji-like reactions on the fly. ChatGPT 4o will also come to iOS, macOS, and iPadOS “later this year,” as a chatbot that Siri can turn to when it’s not able to do what you ask. I’ve always liked it. Well at least in my iPhone 14 pro. Me brother has a pixel, and it may give better answers, at least if it hears you. Just acknowledge Siri has limitations, and what it does, it does better than Google.

Just bring up the interface for circle to search and a translate button is there, that translates everything, even more languages at once... Searching for images? Thanks for this summary. Steve Jobs brought us keywords, sort & rules to let us select our photos for our smart albums in iPhotos almost 20 years ago. We need keywords back for iOS. IS there anything in WWDC24 to help us organize our photos with keywords, metadata and use it to select and organize our photos. Memories is great. We need to access our photos ourselves as well..

ChatGPT integration makes this DoA for anyone with any notion of privacy and not wanting their data to be consumed by AI models without compensation or their consent. (yes, I know they "ask", but do you honestly believe that?)

If apple says that it will ask you before asking chatgpt, you bet they will. They are big on security, its their marketing appeal compred to others. Siri will be on device and then ask you to access chatgpt

@@AiguilleVoodoo I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out that Apple's GenAI is just ChatGPT and Dall-E under-the-hood. But until Apple fully open-sources the system or "auditors" can find that out, I'm going to remain skeptical. You should NEVER unconditionally trust a corporation to do the right thing.
