So they say using your OLD equipment will be more costly, but going to the NEW system will add MORE COST and delays for parts. We are truly moving forward as a society. All in all, "Everythiing costs more" just as MR. Rite Way said.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It’s true that industry-wide transitions can come with challenges, like increased costs or potential delays. On the bright side, these new systems aim to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact, which could mean long-term savings and benefits. It’s always a balance, but staying informed helps us all make the best choices for the future!

I was given this line of reasoning 18 years ago when I had a R22 single-stage system installed. Eventually I realized that I was sold old technology and if I had a problem down the road then repairs would be more expensive and it could be used as a reason to sell me another unit instead of doing a repair. Sorry, but I'll wait for a system with a new refrigerant - which aren't really new as they have been used in other parts of the world for years. And I'm not buying that a 20 - 30 % price increase is due to just the new refrigerant. More likely some person along the chain is trying to use the change as an excuse to charge more. Or efficiency mandates have increased, so extra purchase costs get made up in lower electricity usage. I wish that the HVAC industry would embrace change quicker.

I worked HVAC back around 2018/2019. I remember some of this with R-22 being phased out. Price per pound was around $300 and customers who wanted to keep their systems going were shocked to hear how much just the refrigerant would go for.

Nothing about this sells me as a consumer to believe this will be better or save me money at all. Such BS 😀
@chaseme98603 ай бұрын
Its all BS. I owned and HVAC and EPA inspection businesses for over 30 years. Retired a year ago. All the old equipment lasted longer and ran better. The EPA and manufacturers are not making these changes because of the environment. Its because industry lobbyists are creating a market that forces the consumer keep having to buy new equipment.

Thanks for sharing your perspective! This transition to new refrigerants is driven by EPA regulations, and we understand it may not immediately feel beneficial or cost-saving. Our role is to help you navigate these changes, whether that means optimizing your current system or exploring new options down the line. We’re here to make sure you have all the information needed to make the choice that best suits your needs and comfort level.

Price of new units is going up another 25percent starting 2025. You are probably going to be looking at 12,000 dollars for a 4ton system replacement. it's really ridiculous. Benn in the business for 19 years. It's going to be bad for everyone. Looks like systems are going to become a item for the rich.

We know that the upcoming price increases in 2025 due to manufacturer adjustments are a major concern for homeowners and industry professionals alike. At Rite Way, we're actively working to make these new systems as accessible as possible despite the rising costs. Our team is focused on securing financing options, rebates, and tax credits to help offset expenses and make these advanced, eco-friendly systems more affordable. We’re here to support our community through this transition and ensure everyone has options that work for their budget

I noticed a 80 percent furnaces behind you do fossil fuels deplete the ozone layer more than refrigerants i remember the r11 fase out we derated the chillers by 25 present but r11 ozone depletion was minimal to fossil fuels but we burned more fossil fuels to run the chillers but refrigerant manufacturers made millions that is what all this is about not the ozone itself about money and not for the consumer i replaced r22 units with 410 a and we had to install bigger breakers fore the same size 410 units this is going to cost the consumer more money and large corporations will make more money the best thing the industry could do is build small chillers and run glycol loops in your building rather than a class 2 gas threw your building

We understand that these changes might seem overhyped. Our goal is simply to inform consumers about upcoming EPA regulations and how they may affect equipment options and costs over time. Whether it’s a small adjustment or a bigger decision, we’re here to offer guidance to help business owners and homeowners make informed choices.
