Great deer. This video engendered a lot of negative comments regarding the use of bait. Much of the support of baiting is founded in the legality of the method. Fair chase isn't decided by the law - it comes from the hunting community. Around the turn of the century, driving deer into water (water-killing), where boaters would kill them was a widespread and legal practice. The hunting community finally considered the practice not fair chase and it stopped. Depending on the law to manage your choices can lead you to some bad decisions.

I don't make very much money, I'm no where close to rich. But I saved my money and paid 30% down on 34 acres of land. I don't have a lot of time on my hands but I use the time I have to do whats necessary to hold deer and grow deer. The people who whine and complain about baiting deer are the guys that hunt public land and shoot every spike they see. Then they get jealous when we kill big deer after all of our hard work and patience. I also process my own meat and live off of it all year. So i'm not in it for sport.

What's the difference between corn and a food plot?
@josephmcneill22502 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyriley455 difference is, corn comes in a bag and you can carry it wherever. Food plot is hard work, natural, and you need to be dedicated, corn you just buy a bag and carry it in
@brettcall62 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyriley455 Like us, deer are also lazy creatures, they will come to a corn pile before they will naturally graze and provide for themselves. Duh, That’s like saying what’s the difference in ordering a steak from a restaurant where the chef cooks it for you and a server brings it to your table versus you harvesting your own cow, processing it and cooking your own steak in your backyard and serving your own table. Don’t be an idiot, you sound like a fucking Democrat. There’s a thing that was taught back in the day called hunting values and ethics, and being a good steward of the land and it’s creatures. Morals and values is what’s missing in this new generation of hunters. Everyone is lazy and wants instant gratification. It’s sad cause this dude in this video will pass this crap into his children. Hopefully you won’t pass it onto yours.

These deer don’t come easy. Take it from us on 20 years of management and hard work yet we’ve never had a deer close to this size in that time frame. Hard work helps, but luck plays a big role, too.

Bait pile. Learn how to hunt
@bryanbrown14762 жыл бұрын
We kill a few in states that you cannot bait as well. We killed deer in GA and AL before you could bait. Baiting doesn't work most of the time but it did in this situation. Just utilizing strategies that GA DNR sees fit. Good luck and happy hunting!

My favorite part is when they shoot them while they’re eatin the corn. Then celebrate afterwards like they were surprised the deer showed up to corn. CWD sucks, but one thing is for sure, once it hits your county, your going to find out what kind of hunter you are. Cause your days of hunting over a corn pile will be over. Unless you like sleeping in a jail cell. You put a stand down wind of a corn pile, and bush hogged a path right to it. 🤦 That was hard to watch. That buck deserved better. 👎🏼 I’m disappointed that REALTREE supports this. Then again, I’ve been Mossy Oak anyway.
@archeryaddict86522 жыл бұрын
No the deer that get poached deserve better. They followed every law of the state and got a buck doing it . Just cause you put corn out means nothing as far as a guarantee at a buck could it help sure. But it didnt help his first few sits did it. And bushhogging a path to walk in silently is a bad thing ? So you prefer walking threw brush and leaving scrent behind . At the end of the day you can stragize and hunt however you want to within the laws . Sucks this video hurt your feelings about a hunting company posting hunting videos lol
@brettcall62 жыл бұрын
@@archeryaddict8652 That is poaching. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Majority of the states it’s illegal to hunt over a bait pile. Ask yourself why do they have that law in place? If you truthfully answer that question, your already on your way to becoming a better and more ethical hunter. You just left the woods a better place for future generations. Anybody can go to Walmart and buy a $5 bag of corn and put down a bait pile with a trail cam on it and TRAIN a buck to come to the corn pile and shoot it. There’s literally a 100 ways a bait pile gives you an unfair advantage. A deer with his head down feeding on a bait pile is less likely to jump the bow string. A deer feeding on a bait pile is less aware of his surroundings. You can move the bait pile and manipulate where the deer will walk to and stand manipulating wind direction to your advantage. It’s called hunting for a reason. The scary part of this is that, this should be common sense. The reason why this kid in this video is doing it is because his PRIORITY is shooting a big buck on camera so he can advance his future in the hunting industry and benefit from it, THATS IT!! And hunting over a corn pile was a very EASY way of him accomplishing that goal. Never for one second was this video about the deer. It was all about the guys future in the hunting industry. You want to see some real deal hunters, watch those guys who randomly show up and public land they have very limited knowledge of and after a few days of scouting they harvest a quality buck. That’s what a hunter is. Not this cat in the video. Poaching is not just limited to, spotlighting, trespassing on posted property, hunting out of season, etc. The number one fine for poaching is, HUNTING OVER A BAIT PILE!! And ask any game warden what the #1 offense in deer hunting is. 😂 🤦

@@brettcall6 I'd agree if were talking about something completely immoral. Were talking about a guy leagally putting out bagged corn just like i legally plant and hunt near my corn field. No difference except he didn't spend a month and a half prepping and it worked out for him. Simple case of work smarter not harder. Good luck to you.
@archeryaddict86522 жыл бұрын
I can manipulate there movements with mock scrapes too actually there is a list of things. Nothing on that list is 100% getting him to your stand. Your talking about scary ? A "hunter" upset that a stand.. is down wind(where it should be for scent control) do you sit upwind or something ? I can go find acorns fallin put my stand down wind of it and HOPE something comes by . Nothing in the woods is a guarantee an as a supposed hunter you should know that.
