Biggest Buffalo Bills Divisional Round Win Takeaways

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over some of his biggest takeaways on the heels of the Buffalo Bills holding off the Baltimore Ravens, 27-25 to advance to the AFC championship game next Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
As expected but no less annoying, the main national narrative stemming from this game is more about Baltimore finding a way to lose than the Bills earning the victory. It's something Patrick takes great issue with and points out several key ways in which the Bills are not getting nearly enough credit for, including great individual plays that forced all three Ravens turnovers, game planning and committing to not letting Derrick Henry run wild on them, the Bills rushing for more yards in the first half than the Ravens give up per game, going a perfect three-for-three in the red zone in the first half and being completely clean in the turnover department on their end.
Patrick also spends time highlighting how much better the Bills were in the trenches on both sides of the ball this time around compared to their first meeting in Baltimore back in Week four. In that game the Bills were bullied all over the field along the lines, and that was clearly not the case this past Sunday night.
Patrick also has thoughts on people who are vigorously either defending or lambasting Lamar Jackson's performance in this game, Baltimore's suspect game plan and coaching, Joe Brady not being at his best, a few things the Bills need to improve at if they're going to knock off the Chiefs to get the Super Bowl and plenty more.

I’ve been indulging in all the copium from the Lamar lurkers. Ravens fans are partial, but they don’t have this weird obsession with Lamar and will tether any criticism of him to Lamar being a victim, people being racist, or whatever other bad faith argument they’d like to bring up. If Lamar wins his 3rd MVP, then they truly need to re-evaluate the criteria for being MVP as the voters just seem to glaze Lamar and keep wanting to give it to him. It might as well be changed to the Lamar Jackson award for excellence. The only MVP we truly want to see is Josh winning the Super Bowl MVP.

The media has to spin the narrative that the Ravens lost the game more than buffalo won it because that game exposes them as frauds for voting Lamar for MVP and first team All Pro AGAIN!!! When Allen was more deserving. The Bills should have been up 28-10 at half and would have been if the refs didn’t call Dawkins for a phantom holding call right after the Lamar interception. The Ravens didn’t call more RPO’s because Oliver was straight abusing Linderbaum. He couldn’t block him, the Ravens didn’t have enough time to set up those RPO’s and the few they tried, Jackson handed the ball off to avoid getting sacked. About that TE screen play to Dawson Knox … if you watch the film Pat , you clearly see Allen call that audible at the line. ALLEN CALLED THAT PLAY. That’s on him. Regardless 6 points in the second half isn’t good. The Bills offense struggles to put two good halves together. It was the same story last season when they only scored 7 points in the second half against the Chiefs in that loss at home. We need a complete game next week from the offense, especially if we’re going to be down Benford, Rapp and Milano. PS… I’ll say this, I’ve seen plenty of games where Allen plays a terrible half of football and then comes on in the second half but falls short… just like Lamar did, yet you and MANY other Bills fans try to pretend that Allen played no part in the loss. It’s a little hypocritical to call out ravens fans and media supporters, for doing the same shit that you and most of Allen’s cult followers also engage in.

Mistakes don’t happen in the NFL, these guys are paid to flop at a moments notice with a call from Vegas don’t kick yourselves any longer Josh and Pat. Both know that they’re going to do whatever the script tells them to I’m serious if the Las Vegas wants Patrick Mahomes to start making out with Taylor Swift, it’ll happen no matter what Travis says. You guys wake up. It’s bad every tackle every referee call everything to confuse you.
