The 68 eastern conference finals were a strange one .Dr king had just been assassinated. This deeply effected a lot of the players on both teams in that series. They actually had a meeting to decide if it was the right thing to play . .I think a lot of the Philly players were utterly deflated and that effected there play .Boston as well but they just hit more shots .

In the 1968 eastern conference finials, not only was Cunningham out with injury, but in that series Wilt, Luke Jackson, and Wali Jones were all playing with busted legs. Greer was also playing through bursitis. Furthermore, they had lost two others from their bench earlier in the season. Despite being banged up, undermanned, and shooting poorly, it's remarkable they only lost a game seven by four points

Thank you so much for mentioning how weak it was for the Warriors to go to Hamptons and beg KD to join them after a 73 win season and minutes away from back to back titles , I hate how nobody ever gives Steph , Klay, and Dray crap for that ! It was incredibly weak on their part ! If they had any heart at all they would have came back as is with minor tweaks and got revenge like the Spurs did in 2014 ! CUP CAKES !

Bird had a ton of injuries in that post season. Could only play 6 games the season after. Injuries are the biggest reason for his numbers going down in the post season most of his career. That’s because Bird played like a dumbass diving to save the ball, battling for rebounds when his teammate clearly was getting it, trying to score in the paint when it was not necessary at times. He really abused his body. So he was broke by the post season smart players don’t do that. Derrick Rose even says the way he played before his injury was inefficient and unnecessary

Nobody likes to mention the fact that Don Nelson, who had been the coach of the Mavs for Dirk’s whole career up until two seasons prior, was coaching the Warriors that season. He knew Dirk inside and out, and if anyone should have been able to shut Dirk down, it was him. Plus the Warriors gave the Mavs all sorts of trouble in the regular season. I remember having a gross feeling when they made the playoffs Still a choke, but probably one of the least surprising to me at the time. How come no one mentions LeBron's abysmal 2006 FIBA championships performance for Team USA? Dwyane Wade and Carmelo even played better than him. If LeBron played like LeBron, they definitely would of won gold. LeBron was a bricklayer in Japan.

Very few bad performances in the finals outside of the last 2 rings with Utah, which is absolutely a testament to how good jordan was.
