My grandfather had an 80-acre farm on the banks of the Tigris River in Iraq, and he used to water the crops using an English-made Rastan machine, and that sound that I used to hear every morning is still stuck in my mind until now when I hear it. When I hear it now, I feel nostalgic for those days, for my grandfather, my father, and the others who have passed away

Well maintained one run 100 years but these Pakistani's cannot oafford clean lubricating oil or fuel oil for that matter and just use old mootor oil for both jobs.

@@rosewhite--- I higly doubt this engine can can on bunker fuel or spent motor oil. We know our people are poor, Rose. No need to rub it in! 😅 We may be poor, but we are resilient, beautiful and awesome-possum! Despite all the hardships, like this engine in the video, we chug along!😊

@@ProudMurtad all old diesel will run on any oil once warmed up. I constantly remind westerners that Pakistan is an impoverished country.

Amazing that still runs, and sounds great. And Texas has problems keeping power on in cold weather with all the solar panels, wind turbines and fossil fuel power plants. Maybe hire this guy.

We had a similar machine many years ago that powered a generator. Only shut it off for servicing. Very dependable and efficient. We kept it absolutely spotless.

Those garments that these people use look very dangerous in these kind of jobs....Spinning wheels,belts all over the place and moving mechanical parts easily catch those loose clothing....just a gust of wind can be the cause of an accident....

Here in North America, if an oil refinery leaked this much oil on the ground, it would be shut down as an environmental hazard.

The belts are pulled to the center of the wheels, the faster it spins the more the belt wants to be in the center. This is because of the shape of the wheel, if it had a flat running surface then the belt would shoot off.

the wheels are called pulleys. their surface is slightly convex so the belts selfcentre.

I have been pulling your legs.. I am aware of the physics involved. It is the asme alleged physics that allegedly shapes our planet into an ellipsoid. The magma / lava inside the earth is pushing on the crust, making the eart wider at the equator. This is what we are told. -but if the same physics were to be applied to the outside of the earths crust, all of worlds waters would collect at the equator, where the speed is the greatest. @@rosewhite---

Plus of course there were no volcanoes until well after The Flood of 4,370 years ago when underground fires began peaking and erupting. Get some real education instead of watching Planet of Apes videos. Having spent a lot of my life centrifuging things I can conclusively say that if your imaginary magma idea was true all magma would have long ago pushed out away from your imaginary molten core and formed an extremely thick crust...and left a voided core behind - making Earth and empty shell like The Moon, Mercury, Venus etc. You really need to ask your parents why your IQ is so low - or do you live up a holler in Appalacha?

Ah. I have the process down now: dump yesterdays sump oil plus moths into todays lube oil. Get two other guys to rotate the flywheel, hit the mag and you're pumping what I am sure is pure clean drinking water - or what passes for it.

No sense in starting the engine without the belt on the pulley. Would you try and put the belt back on, with the engine running?

@@dougabbott8261 Could this thing run on motor oil or bunker fuel? I think that's just lubricant oil top up and priming they show in the start, not the fuel tank getting topped up.

These machines barely use any fuel and it’s a very lean mix they are burning. No black smoke billowing from them. Also no new engines have to be build to replace them.
