At the very least they should tell the public so they can get free food. Seems like a big waste to just drain a lake and let the fish die.

It b.s. honestly I have respect for law enforcment but I know for a fact there are some hardcore poachers killing 20 plus deer and elk a year, similiar deal with wild salmon and selling it black market, and theyve gotten away with it for years. Game wardens worry too much with the petty crap like checking licenses at the stocked trout pond during the trout derby.

For a couple of years me and my buddy tried to catch this huge rainbow in our local lake. All the rainbow trout there where about 7 inches but there was a few giants. Anyways when they drained it we found one of the dead ones that weighed 15 pounds after most likely losing weight. And I still wished they wouldn’t have drained it so we might’ve have caught it

Conservationist? Those are fish we put there for game and if we didnt put them there they wouldn't be there anywhere we want fish they poor in thousands and keep millions of spawn at the fishery. Don't worry about concerving game fish that we produce by the billions in the USA and fill water artificially until we are happy with the fiahing. Bass were planted into all the manmade lakes as well....there are only natural rivers human.dams make lakes and humans fill them with game fish.

Here in So Cal, when draining reservoirs tiny, like the ones built for old citrus orchards or large mountain water supply, the workers will move em out in trash cans full of water, to other man made bodies of water , just so they don't hafta die. You need research lol Fish can feel pain, they have a very complex nervous system, although not 100% scientists are 99.9 sure that fish feel both fear and indeed pain, many many tests conclude this result and surety. We can never be 100% of what anything other than a human feels, dogs and cats and chickens etc we are all only 99.9% sure of feeling pain. The way though a fish will behave when injured suggests pain, they are less likely to avoid dangerous things even when slights injured, this is due to being preoccupied with the pain. Actually even their lips have nerve endings suggesting pain is felt when hooking. Im just saying, you dont know they do not feel pain lol

@@daniels1293 Stop speaking bs man, seriously, you are wrong telling people they can feel stress but not pain as we do, you do not know and if we go by scientific testing, behaviour tests, and biology test results with nerves and cells, the answer is yes they can and almost certainly do.

@@Jessebella1 no they certainly do not, their brains do not have the capacity or a developed enough nervous system for pain to register the same it does in human. You my friend need to Google it. Stress is how their bodies register pain as they don't have pain receptiors.

Horrible how things like this happens ! Sad news is after lake is drained the creek will have less water and no fish ! Big thumbs-up down on draining the lake ! You done a great service for filming the devastating effects on it . It makes people aware of what really happens when you decide to drain lakes .
