I love Formula E because it’s so “Old DTM” also, that 2014 crash was crazy, I remember seeing that and thinking: “Holy f*** he’s dead!” Edit: I love the lack of traditional circuits, it’s so refreshing, after watching GT3 and Formula 1 Edit 2: I love the Gen 1 cars, but in terms of sheer aesthetics, the Gen 3’s are the best, Gen 2 is good too, but too normal and modern.

Many combinations for this results Lack of proper asphalt, as the ones used on permanent circuits (Formula E) drivers mostly in city circuit where asphalt is different plus way more bumpier Lack of noise, maybe this will have an counter effect (however they should hear even better without so much noise) Narrow circuits having almost none escape Snails for stewards, you could clearly see crashes and they don’t raise any yellow flag 😂 Lack of a proper safety response from drivers you can notice they have witness a crash and keep driving full throttle 🙂‍↔️😕, keep your position but slow the pace if it’s for sure a yellow flag why risk the race And no proper communication many of this accidents look like in wet sudden situations but do they not warn the drivers of the imminent weather forecast or something, they all crash in the same way 😒

The modern FE cars have a top speed of about 320 kmh which is about 40 kmh less than f1 the older ones do have a lower top speed but that doesn’t really matter when you’re constantly navigating super tight corners that are really easy to get understeer in

Lack of traditional circuits + bad driving standards + lack of sound is what keeps me from watching it. Especially the circuits part. I tune in to random motorsport races every weekend just to watch cars manoeuver around laguna seca or fuji or spa. FE is already soulless without good sounding cars, they should atleast race on circuits with some character, not endless miles of roads and fences.

They've said that they need to get some more permanent tracks to make a more stable calendar and they raced Portland Indycar circuit this year which appeared to be a success for them. Bigbtracks like Spa and Silverstone are still off limits but places like Laguna Seca, Donnington etc would be fine.

Sounds like Scot Elkins, the race director. In the case of an accident, he will communicate to all teams and drivers over the radio, and it is often broadcast. Usually he manages to coordinate everything without swearing, though 😄

Craziest thing was that it was a spot shower, clear as day before and for most of the race, then all of the sudden a quick downpour and chaos ensued. Literally only rained for about 5 minutes but it was enough to cause those cars to aquaplane.

Don't blame the flaggers. (at least not all of them.) Many of the pileups happen because cars are the initial crash is between stations and the majority of cars involved had already passed the previous station when the yellows came out. We are working on in car flagging. SVRA and Trans Am uses Flagtronics. IndyCar and F1 use EM Systems. The WEC system is still by far the best. I think Alkemel makes it.

Formula E is the representation of every bad aspect of E-cars so far: - Batteries, that cant be charged quickly, - batteries that cant be changed quickly, - the cheapest, most toylike, most anoying sound of a gearbox I havent heard since my childhood and wouldnt trust to last a single day, - cars made out of plastic so easily breaking in so many pieces like just cars made out of plastic can... Why not build these cars in a smaller scale and let the drivers control them by radio? Wait we allread have this for about 50 years, sounds the same, looks the same, feels the same and everybody who does it dreams of upgrading to the combustion engine class with metallic chassis once they can efford!

Cars race very close together on tight street circuits, so chances of an incidents are just increased. Cars (at least in gen2) can also take a few bumps so drivers race like its a touring car, this is happening less with the new car though. Also, just in general they're tough cars to keep under control. Minimal aero and tyre grip makes it very easy to lose control of the car. Especially with the braking systems which mostly all comes from the regen(They don't even use rear brakes anymore).
