I'm an old man in NW AL chasing the state record spotted bass, my best to date, a 6lb. 15oz. tank from a small creek. I really appreciate your videos targeting big spots. You are the complete fisherman, and believe it or not, you have taught an old dog some new tricks. Big thanks from Alabama......

Wow, I really respect you as an with great angler to take a moment out of your tournament time to explain to some folks about what you’re doing. I’ve been watching so many fishing tournament anglers and your bass community has been without a doubt the high level of great people. I cannot wait to get my journey going in the bass world. Thank you sir for sharing this video I love your video content and I was in awe watching you in the USA bass championship great representative and well deserved to be apart of it. Take care and God bless!!!!❤

4/210 anglers, no big deal, average weekend. Dude is a legend. That would be my best weekend ever!

I'm sure the guy on the dock didn't realize that he may just have been talking to one of the best kayak fishermen in the nation that morning. 😂 To take time alway from fishing to chat with some locals. That's gold right there.

Lived on Clear Lake for almost 10 years when I first retired. Lived right where you fished, Lakeport Lagoons. I had many great days on the water there. Congrats on the great finish.

Nice job at the tournament! Loved that mini marina area you fished with the peanut gallery. Even pushed forward the kayak fishing sport to a group of people there.

Great tourney format, and nice job man! Few years back, my partner and I fished the two day Anglers Choice western regional final on Clear lake and we won a fully rigged 18' Bass Cat boat, by punching green pumpkin brush hogs in matted weeds, just south of Glenhaven, in 5' of water. We had 32.2 lbs. but was only good for third place, while the winning team won two 19' Bass Cat boats.

Another good video and tournament. So where does the rest of the money from the entries go? 210 boats at $130 is about $28k, and payouts were around $15k. I'm just curious.

Thank you for the video. I watch Greg video and now yours, do you feel the ffs gives you a big advantage?
@dthao927 ай бұрын
Depends on the season, ffs helps in the fall to winter but it can also hurt you. You’ll spend too much time chasing fish that won’t eat or chasing the wrong size fish when you should have been fishing contours and trying to catch bottom contact fish. But for the early spring to summer, I don’t really use my units since I’m fishing shallow

Hey brother when you take a picture of your fish during tournament do you also input the inches/length of the fish before submitting? great stuff BTW.
@dthao927 ай бұрын
Yes, you have to input the inches. The judge will then view your photo to very it

Damian what size line are you using on your spinning outfit? Looks bigger than 10lb?
@dthao927 ай бұрын
Yes, for Clear Lake I usually fish 12lb tactical since the fish here aren’t line shy and the fish fight harder here at clear lake
