And BET while it's intended for Black audiences also includes white, asian, etc. entertainers on their shows, music, etc. if the art fits the genre. What you are either unaware of or intentionally ignoring is the reason why BET, Black colleges, black churches, etc exist in the first place. We weren't allowed or excepted in great quantity anywhere else. So BET and the like are obviously places where we can go when we aren't accepted anywhere else and we will honor excellence within our own community, WITHOUT trashing anyone else. Do you harrass Jewish ppl for Jewish based business, LGBTQ for LGTBQ based spaces, Asians for Chinatowns? I get the feeling you are more fixated on being right then recognizing why there is the need for these type of communities in the first place.

I'm not in favor of any awards shows, Oscars, Emmy Grammy whatever. The are all junk at this point. Just a night for "celebrities" to dress up. But I understand why, there is a BET awards, because for 50 years black artist were and are rarely recognized at the "white" award shows. But will Smith didn't deserve he can't act worth a damn!
