This to me sounds like the big make of break, at least for the foreseeable future. The game needs work, the game needs to be stronger competition to rivals, and if they can announce something big and at least generate some buzz, it’ll be a win, at least in my book.

I didn't think this possible, but I'm glad to being proven wrong. Things we could proably see are: rebranding of the game (no more 2 in the logo), return of 6v6, talents/cards for hero progression in match. Or... T4 could pull a Blizzard moment and sweep us off our feet with something totally unpredictable like they did in their golden era. One can dream I guess. Also I just hope they did not invite the streamers that ditched OW the moment Rivals came out. I understand why some of them did it, I do, but I don't forgive the fact that some of them rose to "fame" thanks to OW and turned their backs to the game like that. Maybe I'm just old, like Jack Morrison old, but I still value loyalty over money.

The best thing about Marvel Rivals was absorbing all the zombie streamers/youtubers (samito, flats, stylosa etc), that depended on OW but hated the game, always talked about how much they hated it, but never had careers beyond it. Those people take so much space and have louder voices than most of the community.

Imagine they would give the option to customize each hero with different talents which isn´t tied to a mode but you can play them in any mode, okay maybe not in Ranked but in any unranked mode. For example you have different talents but can only select a certain number of them (like in Junkenstein´s laboratory) which would make each match new and random as you wouldn´t know what talents your teammates and opponents have plus you could customize heroes in a way which suits your playstyle. I know it´s essentially what they had planned with ther Hero-Missions and sadly they cancled them but maybe they took many steps back and could release it in smaller packages as it would mean new talents for over 40+ heroes.

The only thing I have enjoyed during the whole time of Overwatch 2 is 6v6 2-2-2 format along with Classic. Now, not everyone will agree with this, but I'd like to see Classic Design back but rebalanced along with the 2-2-2 6v6 format. That's all I would like, and the only reason why I say Classic Design back is because some characters lost their identity that they had in Classic and I would like to see it back. By far, my favorite game mode was Junkenstien’s Mutation system as that brought a lot of fun new aspects to every hero available that lets us play our way. Not to mention Kingmaker for 6v6 is absolute genius for playing that mode for giving solo healers a chance to be more effective or solo tanks to be more aggressive. So here’s what I’m hoping will make their way to the base game + ranked: 6v6 Kingmaker (3-2-1) will be the official new 6v6 mode, but will have no mutations allowed 5v5 will still be the standard Quick Play, but will now only lets you pick one hero & introduce Skill Tree cards that are random for each match to give each hero variety without doing counterpicking. Ranked modes for both 5v5 & 6v6 will be made separate, with 6v6 focusing on teamwork while 5v5 has 3 preset skill cards types that are marked with different name descriptors & are not random. Also, all Overwatch 1 Archive events have been revamped & remade to fit the new maps, completely for free (also Invasion missions will also be for free & given OW coins for those who bought it ahead of time) Also, a new way to centralize the massive amounts of story through small cutscenes or a timeline would be nice to know; since there are TONS of books & comics & lore that lies just under the surface that really needs to be in the center of OW. If we aren’t getting PvE, this is the next best thing to keep the game’s narrative flowing & differentiate Marvel Rival’s approach of doing unlock-able text or better yet, let us unlock digital copies of the comics / books right in-game for us to enjoy as part of the progression. Lastly, my ideal collab would have to be somehow getting either DC Comics (cause why not get into Marvel Rivals turf by teaming up with their competitor) or perhaps even doing other game properties like Blizzard’s own games like doing more Warcraft & Diablo, maybe even Starcraft (HOTS skins brought back would be huge!)

A long time ago there was a map of the overwatch world with all the current maps except for one they haven’t made or said anything about. The only map they haven’t done from that globe hologram was Seattle but I haven’t heard from that since.

The fact that they're making the Cyber ​​DJ skin available as a drop tells me a lot about how they internally weight which hero skins they release and how. There sure are lots of things that happened these past few months but expecting a change in core philosophy? I think it depends on the manager or the designers themselves or perhaps the norms implemented to the workplace even money cant make them less ignorant. A lot of this roots back to the management itself. As long as we dont see a direct apology of it now we will never see a true change in the game. Marvel rivals will be the winner and overwatch is in survivor mode taking months or years even to catch up.

Overwatch should add team-ups like Marvel rivals where if there are certain comps they get additional perks, buffs or changes in their skill. For example, they could add the larger or stronger shield for reinhardt and brig which was part of the zero hour cinematic. Something for Hanzo, Genji and Kiriko, the OG overwatch group, Junkertown characters, Talon characters, Omnics, etc. It would be a fun addition to the game and help players interact with new team comps.

I am excited to see what's up. I am hoping for more diversity in gameplay myself. I usually play 5v5 until I complete my daily and wekklies, which is like 3-4 games a day. But when they had 6v6 and Classic I spent 5-6 hours a day playing. I think they need to spice it up more and focus les of dress up simulation.

the state of ow2 is so sad and i know it's not all the devs fault and mainly the execs/corporate but damn this a good opportunity to show everyone that they still care about the game and the community. the decision to stop pve because they want to cater to more of the live service was such a blunder. and it feels like they care more about the shop than anything else. i really hope marvel rivals being a great game makes the ow2 team do better

I dont get the marvel rivals glaze, its a mediocre game that doesn't do anything new and most if not all of its aspects are copied to the ground. I am not saying ow is any good either. But saying MR deserves goty is an actual slap to actual good games. The glaze is unreal.

@helheimpanda i think part of the glaze is because it's marvel, one of the biggest franchises as of right now. And the variety of characters during the beta AND release is crazy for a game in this genre. it gives a variety of play styles and caters to a lot of audiences. It's also because of the gaming community wanting something different, ESPECIALLY the ow2 community getting empty promises from blizzard. ow2 community have been wanting so much but blizzard execs only care about the monetization of the game. it's clear from the start that marvel rivals/netease know what the gaming scene wants. MR fs has its flaws but it's something that a lot of people in the gaming community have been wanting.

The thing i don't like about talents system in PvP is that it's a new balancing struggle. Should be disabled for Competitive, so i play comp exclusively.

They need to do something different. The game has been in a glorified maintenance mode for a long time and now Marvel Rivals comes in with an extremely polished and generous game in the same genre. Heroes and maps are a bare minimum in a game like this and we get just a handful per year right now. The game balance is in the worst state it’s been in months, with every game being a steam roll on one side or the other. I played since beta and I love and adore this game for all the great experiences it gave me but I barely jump in now because it truly feels like a rusting shell of its former self. I’m hoping it can do something to just make it easier to have fun again.

I hope to see changes to the base gameplay that make the game fun for more than just gunplay-obsessed kb+mouse users. Overwatch is so dead on console that it's impossible to find a match without crossplay turned on (that's not just hype, I haven't been able to find a "console only" lobby in years. The matchmaker just keeps searching for literal hours until I give up and turn crossplay back on.)
