OK, Lets address some recurring questions: 1) Yes we will be reclaiming the site and replanting the area. 2) Andy is mining this site and in charge of the mine. I just come to help sometimes and film. 3) The miner (Andy) will get 85% of the gold and the claim owner (Me) will get 15% *Andy has all the expenses I just give him permission to use my land* 4) Andy figures about $80 in fuel. Per 100 yards. Now we did have to rent an excavator for this project because Andy's was broke down. But that expense is not necessarily needed for an operation like this if we used our own. But typically to process 100 yards cost under $100 in operating expenses. Time and Capital expenses that is another story. 5) This was never planned to be a profitable mining endeavor. This is still testing to see if this site could hold a profitable mine. We are doing this small scale machine test to see if spending $100,000+ in putting a full scale mine on this site will be worth while. Any value we recover in gold is icing on the cake, but not calculated into our budgeted expenses. 6) yes we test our tailings 7) Andy's channel: kzbin.info

Thanks Dan !! I know you tested this site with the highbanker, at least once because you had the bobcat in and were working a stacked pile. I can't find the old video. How does this compare to the original tests? Also this is a big claim and a small hole and I think you are planning more test trenches. Farmers and prospectors have to be optimists !! The big nugget is always in the next bucket. If it was all about just the money, you'd be only mining ocean picture stone. It's great to see you healthy and the beard growing back !!

My wife and I love your videos Dan! Unfortunately we don't have money like that to become a patron but we've been supporting your channel and your mining adventures for a little over a year now! I've learned so much by watching you pan! However being from WV USA there's not a lot of Gold or stones.. I've found tiny pieces though using your technique! I just have a lot of trouble using the snuffer bottle that came with the Garret pan.. but I'm still learning! It's my goal to find enough gold to smelt a wedding ring for my wife! Anyway thank you to all his patrons for helping him! May God be with all of you! Your awesome Dan! Look forward to anything you post!

@@linuspoindexter106 Yeah but it varies heavily depending on your luck/geologic research. That super pit in Kalgoorlie Australia has the exact same goal as Dan, to find gold, and yet they're able to afford multi million dollar excavators and detonations. That's the reason people get into the mining business to transform their lives, not to gamble. There is exactly no comparison between what AskJeffwilliams and Dan hurd do to slot machines and blackjack.

The camera makes it look like you had a few ounces of gold . Great catch . I have a friend who mine’s in the Yukon . They have a small operation like you. They make a few bucks every year but mostly break even. My friend is a retired farmer and his wife is a retired social worker. My friend Betty was born in Mayo Yukon on the trapline. Her father was a trapper prospector/ gold miner. Wilf Gordon was one of the hardest working man I have ever met.

Nice film you had a good run there, my father-in-law has a claim in Alaska, it was tailings from a mine that was worked around early 1900's. It definitely feels more satisfying to see the larger amounts of gold. I used to watch an australian channel that I lost when I got locked out of my old channel and can't remember the name of where a guy used to metal detect in the outback somewhere and find big multi gram nuggets on or very near the surface. Iv'e never panned for gold before but I do now have a plastic gold pan. I hope to at some point do a bit of gold panning in rivers that are known to have gold at some point here in England.

Stupid question in all likelihood, but I assume this is still considered placer gold, but if it is alluvial, that might be an interesting teaching moment. I'm an old fart whose total experience in gold was demonstrating to a friend on a business trip to Colorado Springs (part of my misspent youth) that you could actually find tiny specks of gold even in a city park creek. He thought I was nuts until I dug around a bit and got an immeasurably small flake. He wanted to buy a pan, and I dissuaded him of that. It was WAY smaller than a picker!

I saw that deep cycle 12v and it's not an AGM! AGM batteries are much more expensive, but they last almost twice as long (170% to 190%), can handle vibration, rough handling and all-round abuse far better than flooded cell batteries. They also _cannot_ spill acid unless the case is cracked, overheated, overcharged or discharged too quickly, as the only way for acid to get out is through a pressure release valve. They can even be used sideways or upside down.

QUESTION for you Dan. First, thanks for the videos. OK.. What would happen during clean-up if you dragged one of those giant magnets across the con's??? ( giant magnet as in the ones they dredge rivers with and find bikes and guns and stuff) Would the magnet take out the "metal" rocks? Maybe use it during detecting too eliminate wasted time tearing apart something for a metal rock or bottle cap or nail ( unless you collect square nails).. wont take lead away, but might help cut time on the clean-up.
