BIGGEST SCANIA EVER MADE

MPG showcased a huge Scania NG R730 16x4*12 equipped with their newly developed 450L9-L6 crane at Bauma 2022. The Truck was modified by JH Kran and delivered to Upplandskranar. The truck features:
- 6 steer axles and 2 drive axles (28 tires)
- MPG knuckle boom crane with a lift capacity of up to 132 metric tons
- 65 meters of reach

Yes but a knuckle boom crane like this can do certain lifts a normal mobile (teloscopic) crane can not

@@thespottingchannel8082 I'm the shop foreman for my company, I maintain a fleet 32 boom trucks. We make all of our own trucks, I've personally put together 4 at this point, the last one of which was completed 2 weeks ago with a 2022 Western Star 49X and a Palfinger PK48.002 Tec 7. I have to say I'm impressed with the Tec series, palfinger did exactly what was needed to eliminate their greatest weakness, the hydraulic line mess on the base of the tower, I often thought of ways palfinger could improve their designs, I'm glad I was right. haha.

A mobile crane have a ”development fee” since it’s considered taking a day to drive the crane to the sight and getting it positioned and mounted with the counterweights (and another day to dismount it). A knuckleboomcrane truck doesn’t have that fee because it supposed being able to start lifting faster.

But why? If it has only 132 tonnes lifting power, that is really tiny, for such big and special vehicle. Much smaller dedicated crane can lift same capacity.

Being a knuckle boom crane, it can do lifts a normal dedicated crane can not do, like when there isn’t much space to manoeuvre. And 132 tonnes is really a lot for a knuckle type

Have seen knuckle boom cranes,installing machinery,in new build factories,you just cannot get,even the smallest mobile telescopic cranes inside,they are restricted by the boom.

The support legs are also for stability, it wouldn't make sense if the main load-bearing components for the chassis weren't directly underneath the base of the crane.
