5 years to traverse half a galaxy is considered _slow_ ? That's faster than any warp capable craft in Star Trek.

Are you sure? USS Discovery having jump technology that's called spore drive that basically can jump to any part of the known universe in an instant, that's beyond even the fastest jump technology in foundation

In the books themselves, hyperdrive-equipped ships could traverse the Galaxy in up to a week.

few points: * There's also the 2 cloud dominion ships we see * The slowships use gates to get between star systems, though we havent yet seen this * I think the home swarm ship is actually called Center though that's from outside the show * Hober Mallow has a ship, though we see so little of it it is maybe not worth mentioning * in terms of aircraft we also have the helicon aircar.

It is one of the most beautifully shot sci fi films ever. The cinematography is simply awesome. Although it does deviate substantially from the novels.

No it's not as good as the novels, as the story of the live adaptation is not completely accurate to the source material. There are some story that diverge too much from the original lore. But in comparison to other live adaptation that are worse to trash at best, I give this series a 4/10. But I strongly suggest u watch it ur own, because we have different point of view when it comes to live adaptations.

"Jumpships" to encase a black hole is different from what Asimov wrote to be similar to "Star Gate".

Folding wings and outrigger cockpits are similar to "Star Wars".

Invictus is either far larger more like 20000 - 30000 meters or in scene when it gets activated and comes closer to Terminus it model was badly scaled.

"Star Wars" was a rip off of Asimov , Clarke, and others from "Astounding" so AppleTV+ Foundation is of an interesting copyright status.

The Foundation series is like the Jason Born movie series...yes there is a Jason Bourn, yee there is a Tredstone. No there is no other similarity between the books and the movies. Yes there is a person called Harm Seldon, yes he creates the Foundation on Terminus because the Empire will collapse as predicted by Psych history math. No there is no other similarity between the books and the tv series. Both are a disappointment to those who actually read books.

Go read the books then... If you don't want a carbon copy adaptation you should never, ever see a movie based on a book, my friend. "Adaptation". That's the key here. I'd argue it's authentic to the spirit of the books even if it's vastly different. And it would be utter trash to make an anthology about barely 2 dimensional characters...
@jimorr8205 ай бұрын
@@Emanon... carbon copy, I never expect, but something close yes. These aren't even close. Take Lord of the Rings for the example.

the show is more foundation inspired than actual foundation but its not bad at all and some of the changes like brother Dawn Day and Dusk I felt made the setting more interesting
