With the universe being 14 billion years old, it's impossible to detect radiation from anything further than 14 billion light years away from us. We don't know everything, that's for sure. But certain things may just remain forever unknowable.

Keep in mind that a gamma Ray burst is a one time event. Quasars are (relatively) in the same place night to night. It's like measuring the dimensions of a enormous Christmas Tree with only 19 lights flashing once and only once; each one at a different time. As opposed to measuring the dimensions of the same tree using a few more lights that are always lit.

I love how you ended the video. Sometimes that’s exactly how I react when trouble or discomfort in life arises I just think about the universe, thinking about how big the universe is is not gonna solve my problems here in hearth but the thought about the size of the universe is far more bigger than any other thoughts I have about life. Literally thinking of space and all the vast distances, the depths of time and space and how insanely small and insignificant we are is the only thing that helps me deal with trauma and with the thought of our impending extinction due to climate change. I just think of the universe, and how statistically there should be lots of other life forms out there, even lots of intelligent other life forms, and whatever happens here doesn’t seem so important anymore.

Your ending is literally the reason that spiked my interest in astronomy. The sheer scale of the universe makes all mundane problems seem unimportant - and everything in society is much less interesting than what goes on, on a cosmological scale.

When I was grade 3 I asked my brother what is the biggest planet in the universe, he told me it was named something like "the great wall" I then started to overthink that it might explode but I calm myself with "Planets can't explode" and when there was a field trip in my school I woke up in 3 am just to go outside and see a lot of stars. It fascinated me and I wanted to learn more about our Universe. It even became my Aesthetic. And here is 12 year old me discovering that "The great wall" isn't a planet.
