When they tried to finish at 17 minutes they had a 13k gold lead but i wonder how much of that gold was in their pockets. I'm quite confident that at least 5\6 K was unspent. They could have simply recalled and then go top (or wait baron and go top if they REALLY wanted to be sure) and i'm pretty sure there was nothing MSF could have done against them.

I mean you shouldn't throw away map state for drakes but if you are ahead this much and getting a drake costs you i dunno a plate or vision on the other side of the map you still win more games by stacking drakes rather than perma pushing gold advantage in my books

@@crispybanana3198 I mean the problem with that is about pressure and tempo, as well as the fact that if you play a league game, you are goign to be in possitions where you have to make a choice. Mybe the enemy team is doing something stupid, and you have the choice of eitehr going for drake or 2 t2 towers+ inhibs after acing their team. Maybe the fight is dragged out in a way that means they have super staggered respawn-timers and you need to use continuos pressure to not allow them to reset their map pressence, drakes are easy to take, and should be viewed oportunistically because they don't directly contribute to ending the game and the stats they provide (except soul) is worth EXTREMELY little. Like if your team is 5 tanks with 250+ armour one mountain drake is worth like 3 kills. As long as you don't allow the oponent to get those buffs you don't really lose anything, especially here when it was only cloud drakes which doesn't really solve any of G2's or MSF's problems in the game. At least taht's what I think.

@@nathanaelsallhageriksson1719 your math with mountain is way off, it's worth a way more than 3 kills and the buff scales well into late, also while winning as hard as G2 i think you should be still stacking drakes just to cut out your opponents ways of getting back in the game and like Dom said in the vid there were times to grab those drakes without losing much tempo

Besides RNG vs CLG Game 2 on MSI 2016, which was around 17k lead, i dont remember another one with that amount of gold lead and momentum.

There was one season 2 game where M5 had a 21K gold lead I think. Over CLGEU. Maybe it was more. But CLGEU had all inhib towers, here G2 was one tower away from nexus.

Eh, game back then was a lot different then. I'd say this throw was on the same level as that one or even worse, despite the gold lead being only half of what M5's was. Current day, with the way objective buffs work, CLG EU never would have been able to hold off M5 with the Anivia stall while they came back and M5 would have handily won that game.

@@shadownight9956 To be honest, draft is a part of the game. Similar thing happened in IG vs SKT in 2019 MSI. SKT drafted towards the late game scaling team with yuumi taric , whereas IG drafted for the early game with draven. SKT lost the game before the 16 minute mark, G2 almost accomplished the same thing but flopped. This did not happen because of their bad draft or whatever, they played for early game and did very well, but their late game macro decisions and even mechanical mistakes were so bad they were able to lose a giant lead. Long story short, IG in 2019 was able to finish the game with superior macro because they knew what they drafted, Camille jungle, draven naut bot means you will play for early game and auto lose late game. After the early game G2's macro was simply terrible.

This isnt a game that MSF won bc they were the better team - they drafted the more innately powerful champions, which also happen to be recent releases. Gold is a useless identifier if a combination like zeri/yuumi has already outscaled the other team by minute 18. Objective bounties reward teams for losing. Game has felt like a party game all season so far.
