Sheryn was my fave. Really fond of her high notes which naging trademark nya.. but tbh Erik was more soulful and mas maganda texture ng boses. Sabi nga nila, hindi basehan ang ang taas ng boses kung sino ang dapat manalo. Meanwhile, Charice was not yet on her prime that time. On the other hand, kay Darren talaga ako nanghihinayang. He's already a winner until the text votes came in. Yung shows mismo are just stepping stones for their singing career. The real deal starts outside the competition. Even if you're the winner u still have to prove yourself and I think Erik has proven that he's deserving. He made so many hits while Lyca never really made it big. Si Charice nman, it took guestings for her to get the chance to be in Glee and to collaborate with David Foster.

In any singing contest like in any other contest, the idiosyncracies of the judges would always come out. Erik was like a breath of fresh air against Sheryn who was seen as a no-improvement singer while Eric improved so much in the finals and the judges saw and felt him. Jason Dy projected a certain "class" but very humble. He has a deep pocket of vocal acrobatics better than ALyssa Buenaobra who was seen to be without mass appeal for a performer. I, myself found her to be a bland singer and unappealing even when she joined the UK franchise. (The judges underestimated here the sex appeal of a Darryl Ong, something that is missing from Jason). Lyka has no single advantage over Darren. For me, it was a clear daytime robbery of Darren's victory. Charice's over confidence was a turn-off for me and she was very intimidating even to the judges and the judges feared her as a future rival in showbiz, earning more than anyone of them.

Singing competitions are so repetitive and really predictable, I mean, everyone sings with high notes and belting too much, but in real world, belting music doesn't make much money and doesn't make to the top chart, I must admit there is some few, but in majority, it really isn't. Like for example, Taylor Swift, she does not usually do high belting notes, but, she earns more money than everyone, her songs are quite always on the top chart and she garnered bunch of awards, because what? She has a unique style of voice, and everyone loves it. Just saying. I mean, belting high notes doesn't make you good, it is the style of your voice, ppl are getting tired hearing the same thing over and over again, so if they hear a new genre, new style of music, that's what they listen. Right?
