Because they don’t know the difference between race Lmao trust me I’m Dominican and I ask my parents all the time “ what is ur race” they allll say Dominican… because racism doesn’t really exist as much in our culture, if ur black or mixed or whatever it don’t matter cuz we not racist , that’s America and it’s understandable because they have been segregated for years. So I completely understand why they like that because most Dominicans are raised in New York or the north n it’s a regular slang here that everyone uses even the white ppl, I understand the difference tho because I went to school in Florida in the south and the history comes from the south so I see both sides.
