Nice I got my 2/0 aught welding cable from Wire And Supply. It was on sale and if you want 4/0 they sell that too. They got alot of different colors as well. I got the lime green.

I always use welding cable for one simple reason. The jacket on the welding cable is much much more durable when it comes to abrasions and heat resistance. It’s made for heavy duty outdoor environments. The car audio jacket maybe thicker but it’s nowhere near as heavy duty. If you wanna tin the ends to prevent it from corrosion you can lay some solder on the end where it’s exposed. That and I like the way the welding cable bends and stays in place.

Definitely all great reasons to pick welding cable. I'm using 2/0 welding cable under the vehicle with techflex over it for more protection from Alternators to rear battery bank. The 1/0 car Audio cable is only from rear battery bank to Amplifiers they won't be exposed to any outside elements

I have used 1/0 lugs but they can be a tight fit. Helps to just use the 2/0 lugs they're fairly priced on Amazon and Ebay

Just trying to help you out a bit brother but you say you got the down for sound ofc and welding cable at about the same price? I'm looking at down for sound website and see their 1/0 ofc is $5 + a foot??? If that's how much you paid for the 2/0 welding cable you getting jacked. Just wondering if you've heard of Electron Beam Technologies ? Even not on sale (they often have very good sales) their 2/0 Eb Flex is $3.16 a foot .... Their Eb Flex cable is widely used amongst car stereo enthusiasts and they have up to 4/0

Do you think i’d be to run 2/0 from front battery to the bwck battery and use 1/0 for the big 3 and from back battery to 2 amps?

Yes you can do that 2/0 only has a few more amps of current versus 1/0

Haven't compared the 2 as far as voltage drop, but depending on how long your runs are, you can't go wrong either way, honestly

It's snug depending on the company but yes it will fit in a 1/0 lug

Why don’t you compare apples with apples, not apples and oranges. OFC 2/0 to 2/0 welding wire.

Because car audio 1/0 is equal to awg 2/0 welding cable. Car Audio is oversized which is why i compared it to the 2/0. Car Audio 2/0 is comparable to 3/0-4/0 welding cable depending on the company used

Good choice I use 4/0 welding for big 3 and from front of vehicle to back lithium bank I run under vehicle so I put it in cable armor. But after lithium to amplifiers I use 1/0 car audio cable cause it’s pretty and flexible and most amps have multiple 1/0 audio sized terminals
